Astell & Kern - Zero Customer service. Beware
Hello. I need hardware support for SP2000. The Bluetooth module is very sketchy. Rarely stays connected and if I touch the wheel or get my hand near it, the connection stutters or drops and it happens with multiple BT devices all of which work flawlessly with my iPhone, etc. Any...- BlueSkyHi

ifI iCan Pro - Impressions & Discussion
Not sure in reality. I have the signature Pro iCan and have used LCD-5s on both the 4.4mm and the 4-pin XLR and noticed no difference whatsoever. I have not used my Ultimate Ears 18 IEMs with this amp but I suspect the difference in phone impedance would drop the effective output power of the...- BlueSkyHi

Converting MP3 to Flac good or bad idea?
The why is unknown to me but I suspect that the gurus at Denafrips must have known something when they offered the oversampling vs. non-oversampling mode on their DACs. And, yes, it sounds different, more pleasing, or it could just be confirmation bias on my part.- BlueSkyHi

Converting MP3 to Flac good or bad idea?
My Denafrips Terminator+ DAC allows files to be oversampled on the fly. For example, and MP3 file can be over-sampled to the maximum rate the DAC can handle which is PCM1411.2 or PCM1536. I do like the oversampled sound on many files. I understand this is not the same process as converting...- BlueSkyHi

iFi audio iCAN Phantom - Vanish into the music!
What would have sealed the deal for me would have been an output to connect directly to the implant that was recently installed in the back of my head that bypasses all of the biological material, i.e., tympanic membranes, malleus, incus, stapes, etc., that have begun to fail over my life here...- BlueSkyHi

iFi audio Pro iDSD (Official) - NEW Firmware - MQA and more.
That's pretty cool and good to know. I am not sure of the topology in the iFi design but I am guessing they use some sort of self biasing scheme so there is no big deal swapping different valves in and out.- BlueSkyHi

I’ve never used the tubes much at all. Did you replace the tubes with a different type or manufacturer or because they “got old”? If because they got old what change in the sound quality did you notice?- BlueSkyHi

*iFi Audio, I am really tempted to try this new amp out. Question? Does you company have a satisfaction guarantee on the sale of their products?- BlueSkyHi

Roger that and, by the way, it looks as though I may "have" to replace my PRO iCAN Signature! That Phantom looks "splendifirous" and I've always wanted to get back into electrostatics ever since I owned some self-powered early era Koss ESP-6A phones back in the early 1970s..- BlueSkyHi
