Workout Phones for the Sweaty head-fi'er.

Well I did actually try working out with my HF5s. And i guess because of the seal in the iem, I can hear myself breathing heavy during cardio, and when liftng. It's actually quite distracting unfortunately. Maybe some clip ons? or open backed iem?

    The "Wow" moment.

Love hearing all these "wow" moments, its amazing how diversified they are.  Had another one today, listening to Rhapsody In Blue by Gershwin (performed by Colombia Symph) E7+E9 -> Ety HF5 and it was so jivey and alive, a surprising sound I don't usually get out of my setup, ( I was...

Workout Phones for the Sweaty head-fi'er.

So I'm looking for a pair of phones to take on workouts. Criteria is an all around, biking, running, lifting, and longboarding. Waterproof. And seriously waterproof. I sweat bullets every time its over 70*F, when I'm done running I look like I took a shower... So with the wind rushing...

    The "Wow" moment.

I was sitting here studying for my Cell Biology Exam, listening to my Ety HF5s on my FiiO E7, and through foobar2k, I hear this wonderful, detailed rich sound that completely flooded my ears, serious eargasm here. It was Mozart's KV216 Violin Concierto in G Major, I had downloaded from HDTracks...

Interference? in my new Ety HF3

With other source files like 128kbs there is just a hiss cause of the bad quality, these headphones are very unforgiving. With 320kbs mp3 and uncompressed .wav files they are still there.  the Beats Audio on my Envy 14 is awful, but the hiss is still there.  But since these are brand new, I...

Interference? in my new Ety HF3

When I'm playing any classical music, or anything with more treble, and little bass, the earphones makes a background sound kind of like static (however its more prevalent in the left-earphone). Kinda like a SSsssssssss sound whenever there is a high note or tone. Is this sibilance? I can't seem...

How did you come to be an audio lover?

I actually got into high-end audio when I went looking for a pair of headphones with a detachable cable, since that is what I always break. I didn't like spending $50 on a pair of decent headphones, every month. So i got some Sleek SA-1 to start with, and I've been slowly moving to Audiophile...

    Klipsch 2.1 Pro-Media Crackling Speakers

Hmmmm.... i took one of them apart, but there is nothing that can be loose. its just a speaker attached very tightly by 4 screws. Oh and its a new problem. I have just noticed it. Maybe I'll take it back to Best Buy over the summer when i have a car and exchange it for a new one.

    Klipsch 2.1 Pro-Media Crackling Speakers

When I play dub-step, or anything with a bass drop in it, there is a slight-soft crackle (a kind of static sound), every time it drops to the heavy bass in the speakers. Is this normal with cheap-ish speakers like the Klipsch? Or have they broken or something? Do they need more power? Is it...

Questions about splitters, adapters, and the cabling basics.

I think mad max understands perfectly. Just hooking up my 2.1s through RCA using a y-splitter. Of course. Since the DAC only has one Line out; how would I hook a couple of big loud speakers (and possibly a sub-woofer) up to it, as well as the 2.1 set?

Questions about splitters, adapters, and the cabling basics.

So. Just getting into this whole audiophile thing and buying a DAC + Headphone Amp... Gonna hook it up to my Klipsch Pro Media 2.1s. But there are no RCA jacks on them, just wondering if using a splitter to take it from 1/8'' to a L/R RCA connection degrades audio quality? Furthermore, does...

    Non-audiophile reactions to high-end headphones

Buddy of mine asks what are the best headphones he can get for a reasonable price. I suggested the Grado SR80 for a modest $100. He replied with "Nah, I cant spend money on headphones that don't have bass" Then buys the $90 Skull Candies that have the Bass-switch. I lost all faith in my...

    My First DAC

The Audinst The Matrix Cube Then in summer a pair of Grado R80is Do you guys know how easy it would be to hook up a speaker amp to these DACs? Problem: Popping and crackling when Laptop is plugged in.

Increasing the sample rate and bit-depth seems to have fixed it. Im at 24-bit/196k sample rate now. compared to the 16-bit/96k sample rate i was at before. Thanks for the help!
