I can’t believe anyone would think that was an anomaly. This forum is dysfunctional and it isn’t because the forum members can’t resist feeding the trolls. I’ve been accused of that in the past and I was no more responsible then than you are now.

That is completely unfair. People come in here with the specific purpose of making us mad, then they cry that we are “a bunch of meanies” when we return it in kind. There are two alternatives… 1) Admins moderate the forum consistently to minimize conflict, and 2) in the absence of moderation...

TOS 1, 2 and 5… 1. Be polite. No attacks. Attacking the members in this forum as a group is done all the time by these trolls. “The people at sound science are stupid/deluded/drinking the kool aid, etc.” That isn’t a one on one attack, but it’s still an attack and it’s a pretty good barometer...

It’s just that starting a specific topic in here is going to get lost in the meta convos

No, I’d like to see a group of volunteers get together and work up a strategy and guidelines that they all implement. Admins are always volunteers. Putting it all on the shoulders of one person isn’t fair.

PLEASE don’t let trolls get that far. Use temporary thread bans to enforce civility. These guys telegraphed where they were headed from the very beginning. If someone starts out rejecting sound science as a concept and as a forum, and immediately starts getting aggressive with regular posters...
