Cavalli Audio's Liquid Carbon Owners Impressions
Does anyone notice a change in resistance when you turn the pot (i.e. I noticed this on mine after 11 'o clock)?- BDM-Fi

New Audeze LCD3
Sure thing, I exchanged my pair for a (small) cosmetic thing on the cups, this was my first pair: You can find more graphs of (older) LCD3Fs which have even more energy at 5 kHz here post #9961.- BDM-Fi

New Audeze LCD3
That's a big change to the FR response (+- -7db @ 5kHz), I can imagine it darkens the presentation.- BDM-Fi

New Audeze LCD3
Interesting, thanks for sharing. Mine are in for repair as well and I don't think I would like a reduction in treble energy either. Could you share your two graphs? Here's mine pre-repair:- BDM-Fi

Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread
Indeed. The Ragnarok he received had some "weird" results being measured : http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/big-sound-2015-getting-some-numbers#OYUfgFsDifp42BEZ.97. In that post he mentions the results would be updated when a replacement Ragnarok would arrive; but I haven't seen any...- BDM-Fi

New Audeze LCD3
I've had a similar issue when they were new (bought mine Jan. 2015), i.e. "hotspot" on top of your head. A proper setting of the yokes is also important, have you experimented with that? I wear mine for hours without any comfort issues. There's also an alternative additional headband option...- BDM-Fi

Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier
Looking into future pairing options with Rag as well (with a slight preference for towers). Haven't come across many recommendations apart from the KEF LS50s/Sierra 2's. What bookshelves are you running? The 800's seem pretty efficient (90dB, 8 Ohm nominal, although they seem to go down to...- BDM-Fi

Audeze LCD-3 Impressions Thread
I have run into the same problem as well recently (my pair is 5 months old with only an hour or so of use per day). I don't think it is reasonable one would have to buy a set of $100 pads every couple of months to retain a normal comfort level. Anyone can comment whether replacement...- BDM-Fi

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
Ordered @ schiit-europe.com! I think they just opened the page for orders. Pricing is reasonable at 2450 euro (quite a bit cheaper than ordering from schiit.com at current exchange rates). My order # was 100000397.- BDM-Fi

MrSpeakers Ether Impressions Thread
Isn't this a direct consequence of the Fletcher-Munson effect? Or do you believe that's not the case because of the change being so discontinuous? For the record, I also listen fairly loud to my LCD3's; should get a dB meter sooner rather than later probably; feel free to leave a...- BDM-Fi

Schiit Ragnarok Amplifier
You're absolutely right in my book, the proportions / design of the Mjolnir are simply perfect. I don't find the Ragnarok to look ugly in person; but others seem to agree with you (here's a new review) : http://theproaudiowebblog.com/schiit-ragnarok-review.html Maybe things improve if...- BDM-Fi

☯️ Cavalli Audio's Liquid Carbon... a $599 Cavalli amp???
I guess we did, given your impeccable track record in this regard, but nice to hear that confirmed. Is the impossibility to engrave the markings on the amp a consequence of the small size of the engravings or more of a cost issue, or something else maybe?- BDM-Fi

☯️ Cavalli Audio's Liquid Carbon... a $599 Cavalli amp???
Here's a +1 to that; fully applying the Cavalli house design would certainly benefit the looks and consistency over the product line.- BDM-Fi

New Schiit! Ragnarok and Yggdrasil
In the medium term I'll be looking at pairing new speakers with my Rag. I'm interested in finding out more on the relativeness of these power specs as well, also in relation to recommended amp ratings given by speaker manufacturers. I don't have any prior experience matching amps with speakers...- BDM-Fi
