AD700 paint and mic mod
After getting the headset back together I finally gave the headset a true test only to find that the left driver was bad. Since I had already drilled and what not warranty was void so I had to call Audio Technica. They ended up sending me a new driver for a total of $8.20(US Dollars) shipped to...- automiketic

AD700 paint and mic mod
Well after I said I wasn't going to I went and bought a pair of Audio Technica ATH-AD700's. They seem to be the most recommend headphones for gaming on the net. I did extensive research and ended on these. Now they have not actually arrived yet (due in Monday) but I have done enough research to...- automiketic

AD700- Right channel louder than the left channel
Well I have tried everything I can think of except tearing down the other driver but everything I check as far as wiring goes is fine. I just got the headset but I have modified it so I doubt I'll get any warranty coverage. :( EDIT: Called Audio Technica to find the cost on a new driver...- automiketic

AD700- Right channel louder than the left channel
Picture as promised. Sorry for the poor quality. I see nothing loose everything seems fine. I'm wondering if all the excess wire I had tucked in directly behind the driver was causing the problem?- automiketic

AD700- Right channel louder than the left channel
I'm not sure I follow. I tried reversing the speakers on the computer, tried a different headset and even flipped the headset on my head to confirm. Definitely the left channel is lower than the right, I'm really hoping I just tugged one of the wires a little loose or something....Could the...- automiketic

AD700- Right channel louder than the left channel
Ok guys just got my set of AD700's in today and my first step was to add a mic to them. I tore down the left ear and installed a mic. Now my sound coming out of the right side is louder than the left could I have loose wire or poor connection be causing my problem or is it likely I have a bad...- automiketic

well the most common solution is the astro mixamp which will let you use the optical out on ps3 but that will run you around 150$ USD. A cheaper solution is the Turtle Beach DSS which is about half the cost of the mixamp. Of course you could use a DAC/AMP with an optical input as well.- automiketic
