Soldering holes in plastic?
Wow, thanks for all the quick replies! Quite different from all the other forum communities I've gotten used to lately. :-P I in fact do have a drill, but I find that the holes it makes are not very clean at all...any ideas of how to remedy that?- attnet

4 MP3 CD Players
The panasonic emits a very grainy sort of hissing noise during playback, which is further exemplified by using the XBS function. I would definitely avoid it unless you are planning on using an amp full time to cancel the very annoying, IMHO, noise.- attnet

Once and for all--EQCDs for the Sony EX70: the Complete Guide
I also found a way to do this directly from Ahead Nero without the wait time of playing it through Winamp! First you have to create an "Audio CD" then drag the tracks you want over. Next you open up the "filters" panel, and select the "equilizer" option. There you can set your EQ and save it...- attnet

Question about an MP3-CD player
Cool. I'm wondering if this player displays ID3 tags by any chance? Also, are there any issues with hiss, etc? And what about compatibility with MP3-CD's in various formats (closed, open, multi-session, etc)? I know this is a lot to ask, but this Panasonic is really pissing me off right now. Thanks- attnet

Panasonic SL-MP35 MP3/CDP Minireview
Bitten once and coming back for more that's what I am...I decided to try another one of these, the car kit model, for ten bucks more from goodguys. I hoped that my unit was previously defective, like recephasan said it might have been. Unfortunately, when I unpacked the new one, I found that it...- attnet

Question about an MP3-CD player
Has anyone ever owned, or at least heard, the Aiwa XP-Z5C MP3/CD Player? In the specs it says it has a 16 bit DAC! I'm able to pick this up for about $70 which includes a car kit. Only problem I see is that it can't read ID3 tags. So, anyone? And, BTW, what EXACTLY is better about a 16bit DAC...- attnet

Panasonic SL-MP35 MP3/CDP Minireview
Yeah, I noticed those too. I just decided to return it instead, and will probably be getting a Iriver ChromeX pretty soon. It's gotten good reviews, even though it seems to have some quirks of its own, but those can be fixed through a firmware upgrade, where the Panasonic does not have that...- attnet

Panasonic SL-MP35 MP3/CDP Minireview
On second thought, I think I'll go exchange this unit first. I've just decided to try out the "XBS" function on the player and found that enabling this feature also caused an unorthodox amount of static in the playback. I could hear it clearly through any type of music. I hope this unit is...- attnet

Panasonic SL-MP35 MP3/CDP Minireview
This one seems to be a bit stronger at 6mW+6mW/16ohms. It seems to work just fine with my Sporta Pro and EX70, but these phones are fairly easy to power. I'll try my HD495 soon and report back.- attnet
