My first experience with Grado was late 90s; I assume it was a mid-90s SR60, so probably an early model. A studio engineer had me listen to them because our musical interests were similar and I had never experienced anything different (or better) than consumer Sony/Pioneer/Panasonic headphones...- andypeab

Thanks for sharing your experiences with the R70X! I actually settled on these options partly because their graphs were in the ballpark of my apparent prefered range. And I do know what you mean about graphs not telling the whole story, that's why it's great getting to hear from people who use...- andypeab

For reference: for daily walk-arounds I'm quite happy with the KZ PR2 and Salnotes Zero, for crowded spaces I use a Koss KPH40 Utility, and for sit-down/"critical-listening" my jam is the AKG K371. Obscure Chinese DAPs
So now that it's been a while.... I did go with the M0 Pro and I'm almost totally happy with it. The only thing I'd like to change is being able to EQ via an app; doing it on such a small screen is a pain in the rear. Otherwise it was a great buy.- andypeab

AKG K361/K371
Just wanted to drop in and say "hey" to the other K371 fans out there. I've been using the Brainwavz Perforated pads on mine as a daily headphone with a slight + EQ tweak across 2-16kHz. They're such a pleasant listen across my entire library.- andypeab

Obscure Chinese DAPs
My FiiO's janky micro-USB port pulls double-duty, at least in the newer cars that have middle console media-in ports. I just wasn't sure if some of today's budget players were known to have issues switching over to "mobile-hard-drive" mode.- andypeab

Obscure Chinese DAPs
Hi all. First post, looooong-time lurker. My FiiO X1 II is a trooper but it's showing its age. I've been researching replacements but it's hard to really get a feel for daily living with some of the models in my preferred ~$100 USD range so I figured I'd ask for opinions. My use case...- andypeab
