The Monoprice MP9927 PG 208.. MP8320 (MEP-933)..The $7.11 club..
If we're talking about surpassing the price, get yourself some KZ EDSE for roughly the same cost. You will get a HUGE improvement at least with the lows and the build quality ;) http://www.head-fi.org/t/698148/knowledge-zenith-kz-impressions-thread- anduril

OK. Still, my cable sheeting is already coming apart in many places, so I will just recable them with some Bluedio BT set. should take care of microphonics ;)- anduril

Are you wearing them over-the-ear? I have zero problems with microphonics that way.- anduril

Any tips I try to put on EDSE as a replacement are loose - they slide along the nozzle. I know that there are different tip widths, but lengths? ...yeah, I know, that's what she said.- anduril

At my price level it's a lot cheaper to just replace the IEM than a cable ;)- anduril

I like mine a lot. Except the nylon starts coming off the cable in several places. I don't think it will last a lot longer. Oh well, will be a good candidate for Bluedio BT recabling.- anduril

DIY Sennheiser IE-8 with Bluetooth 4.0 and APT-X
I spent this time hunting for a cheap SBH80 (no luck) and exploring my options. My MP8320's cable starts coming apart, so that may be a good hint on the direction I'll end up taking. Although there are other quite interesting alternatives... e.g. Bluedio N2 for $11 shipped (but not sure...- anduril

I'm not sure I'll be able to find it, but I saw a comment describing the build differences between 2.1 and Basic (plastic).- anduril

Seller says there is a difference in how they sound, most people assume they're the same. Noone has made a direct comparison yet. I took EDSE with mic even though it was a dollar or so more than ED2 with mic. Just to be safe. (Yeah, there seems to be a mic and non-mic version of both EDSE...- anduril
