I'm confused. I just bought a refurbished TASCAM CD-200 cd player, and the headphone jack sounds JUST.AS.GOOD as my $1500 Woo WA6-SE with the US-596 rectifier! How can this be???- Amphibica

The Mighty 596
I decided to buy a Woo Audio WA6-SE after plugging my Audeze LCD2 into one (Q Cables). I bought my WA6-SE stock from Audio Advisor, no upgrades. Now the original amp that so impressed me had a USAF 596 rectifier, so I knew I'd never find the sound I was after without one, but, well... I...- Amphibica

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
My previous amp was an ASL MG Head DT OTL Mark II with external power supply. I never upgraded the stock tubes. It had a wonderful warm sound, but was quite colorful (in a fun way). I still like it, but the 6SE is definitely a HUGE step forward.- Amphibica

Woo Audio WA6 + WA6SE: Tubes, Comments, Pictures, and Advice
My Wa6-SE is brand new; not even properly broken in. It had the stock tubes (which were quite enjoyable!). I despair of audio reviews! It's all subjective and relative. Who knows whether you will hear and agree with the adjectives and superlatives that someone else writes about their...- Amphibica

Help choosing amp and dac for Audeze LCD-3 .. (WA22, WA6-SE...)
I own the LCD2.2s. I love them. I tried the LCD3s but couldn't just the little bit better performance at twice the price. I tried the Burson Conductor but, like you, I was unimpressed. Centrance... nada; unimpressed. I'm currently using an Antique Sound Lab MG Head DT OTL Mark II. I...- Amphibica

Reply to review by 'amphibica' on item 'Sennheiser MOMENTUM'
It is possible to pickup a used pair of Sennheiser HD-650s for $350. Are the 'Momentum' as good as the 650s?- Amphibica

Woo Audio WA6-SE or WA2 for Audeze LCD2.2?
I recently listened to my LCD2.2s with the WA6-SE and was very impressed. So much so that I am seriously considering buying this amp. Woo Audio WA2 is the same $1200 price. I don't need the pre-amplifier capabilities of the WA2; just a dedicated headphone amp. Does the WA2 deserve a listen or...- Amphibica
