I think you'd be better off finding some clip-on earphones with mic/remote cable than using one of those adapters. I'm betting on frustrating battery life issues and possibly low volume.

Sony MDR-7550, it is neutral and detailed and has poor isolation due to its ported design. I think some people tape over the ports. Cable is long but replaceable. 

You can buy a remote/mic cable for the IE80, the cable is removeable. Some full size cans are very comfortable. AKG K7XX are like wearing next to nothing. As far as wearing them everywhere, no thanks. They're huge open headphones. IEMs for out and about.

T10i is way too bass heavy for what you're looking for. Vsonic VC1000 is another one to look at.

D1 is a DAC and amp. I don't see published power output specs so I can't comment on if it can power the DT990's 250ohm load. I have heard praise for it but I never did any research on it because I never considered buying one. I'm sure you can find that info here or on youtube...
