Ouch. That's about a week more, literally 24/7. Question: for burning in dynamic 'phones, does the sound have to be reasonably loud, and cover a wide frequency range?

As I said, my iE7’s look just like the "real" photos above, except for the colour of the plug. I gave them about 20 hours of burn-in when I got them, plus about 10 hours of listening since. I think they sound better than my Etymotic HF2's, so I'm content with that, for about the same price.

A post on the K340 from the Modern Era! I've had mine since the 80's but got into them only recently. Only mod is cotton removal. Either that or my FiiO E09K amp is causing bass drum muddiness, in the opening track of Paul Simon's Rhythm of the Saints, for example. They do seem loud enough...

I have in fact learned a few things since my first post. For one, Anatoli (KT88) in a PM said he doesn't expect to get any more ear pads "in the near future". I've read that the more common velour K271 pads affect the sound in a way I wouldn't like. In general, when all the posts are 4-6...
