Thanks, actually I downloaded yesterday their PDF Emu 1212m manual off their website and it states that you can use either TRS or TS connection on the line I/O of the card. And they actually recommend TRS because of the lower resonance/distortion or something like that.

So TS is for mono and TRS is for stereo or something like that? What's the diff? TS only has 1 ring as opposed to the TRS which has 2 rings..right?

I plugged the headphones into both my computer and cd player with the same results. I googled my problem and some are saying that it could possibly be the 1/4 to 1/8 adapter. So I think i'll swing by radio shack and pick up another one for about $5 and see if that does the trick...
