Tried the Hippo VB x 3 base plate, Hippo Shrooms, Hippo Epic Sparkle, Hippo Epic. Did not try the Hippo Boom. I go with Hippo Epic.- 15grams

What kind of amp is the best value for money?
I would keep the iPod, ignore the Cowon S9 & just invest on a Portable Headphone Amp. Which amp you may ask ? Since size does matter as you mention "trouser pocket". Try the GoVibe Magnum if you have the budget if not try the GoVibe Petite. Go-Vibe Petite+DAC headphone amp - pictures. -...- 15grams

Thanks, yeah it sounds great with the set up there. The Bass were right & tight not cloudy or boomy like the Voyager. The Mids were not over exaggerated and the Highs...crisp. Draws a very refine soundstage.- 15grams
