I've done this and it really is a great way to go. I thought I'd be doing this this year as a matter of fact. But I'm putting a plan together to bring a few pieces of my gear; in which case I won't be leaving from NYC. But if that changes, I'll be doing what bozebuttons said anyway and taking the train from NYC. Again, highly recommended. The hall is like a one or two minute walk from the Babylon train station. That's like walking one or two city blocks.

Lol I suppose I should get over my aversion to public transportation now that I'll be living in NYC. I'm just a bit apprehensive about lugging my gear on the subway and walking around with everything. Still holding out hope someone with a car will see this and take pity.
