:thumbsup_tone1: Pretty much correct. The Utopia does define its own voice in a "reference" format. Nothing in it attacks the music or your ear for nearly everyone that listens to it. The Ether Flow is a great headphone and again has a very wide range of owners & enthusiasts. It would be my opinion that FLOW is very well rounded and linear keeping with the great voicing Dan Clark has selected for his brand. Dans done a fantastic job of creating a newer performance gen of the Ether series with the Flow. I'd say the Ether Flow is warm, musical, well and realistically imaged. I like that it has easy and appropriate pad tuning available. I like that it comes with a great cable. In fact, I'll go so far as to say his supplied cable is often better than some aftermarket cables being offered out there at 3-5 times the price of his cable if bought separately. No doubt the Utopia rocks and the HD800&S are great headphones too but the Ether FLOW and Closed are remarkable for the price, design, build quality, sound quality, genre bandwidth, weight/comfort, pride of ownership and musicality. The FLOW product in my opinion exceeds my expectations on these points.I didn't, and wouldn't, say "way better". Biggest difference to my ears is the stunning clarity of the Utopias. Ether Flow can't match that.
Other than that I think it is more about "different" than "better" - the Flow is more laid back, the Utopia more direct and in your face. Pick your poison (and budget).
I think too much is made of the Utopia sound stage. It isn't huge, but is very precise. Frankly, about the last thing I notice when listening to music. YMMV.
