I dropped in to my local Stax dealer to see if he had any XLR cables for an amp that's coming soon and, while I didn't find any that interested me, they did have the Luxman P-200 set up for listening. I had a quick listen with some Beyer DT250s and my first impression was, I don't like those headphones!
Since my new amp has yet to arrive, I'm thinking of taking my cans and a couple of CDs with me there to try out the amp properly. The only problem is, it'll be hooked up to a $6k Esoteric CD player most likely, so I wont really be able to properly evaluate it, but at least I'll get an idea whether it overcomes some of the limitations of my current headphones. They also have a pair of AKG K701s there which I can test with.
