Review by 'nightrhyme' on item 'Smabat M1 Pro'
I find this review very hard to write because of the praise these earbuds got everywhere I actually bought them based on these reviews. I want to be the one who offers a different perspective. A honest and of course subjective perspective I didn't received these from someone. I bought and paid...- nightrhyme

New Yuin PK2 fake?
Been researching the Shozy Cygnus, Especially vs Yuin pk2. It seems to be the best replacement for pk2 .Size wise and soundwise. The consensus seems to be that the the Cygnus has more bass than the pk2. While the pk2 has much better extension/treble. Especially this Cygnus review is very clear...- nightrhyme

New Yuin PK2 fake?
I’m also a big fan of the yuin shell. But I happen to know it comes in different sizes. Long time ago I bought a modded yuin with special cable on eBay. It turned out to be crap. But the shell was shaped like yuin shell but a tiny bit wider. Enough so that it hurt my ears. I was also looking at...- nightrhyme

New Yuin PK2 fake?
Nothing broken on them. My personal highly speculative opinion on the case: I think they might in fact be produced by yuin and as such not "fake". As far as yuin is concerned these are the new yuin pk2. For someone who never heard the "old" yuin pk2 how would they know otherwise. But the "old"...- nightrhyme

Earbud closest to yuin pk2 sound signature
Hi Headfi As I discovered that the old good yuin pk2 is now difficult to obtain. Long story. Curious?. Please read my thread. I am looking for recommendations to earbuds with similar voicing. I have already been recommended shozy xb which looks interesting.- nightrhyme

New Yuin PK2 fake?
For future reference If you come by this thread from searching and If you are considering yuin pk2. DO NOT buy the version with grey label paint. It sounds nothing like the original yuin pk2 with the white label paint which now seems rather difficult to obtain. I emailed Penon who can only...- nightrhyme

New Yuin PK2 fake?
Thanx for all the replies. I had some more time to compare the two yuins after leaving the new ones to burn in most of the day. They sure do look alike. Except for the different coloured logo and a little thinner cable on the new ones. But the sound is very different. The old original Yuins...- nightrhyme

New Yuin PK2 fake?
Thanx for reply I have tried all the yuin competitors. While some of them sound pretty good. They are bigger and don’t fit my ear as well. I also feel people tend to underestimate how good the yuins really are. too me the pk2’s will never be surpassed. was hoping someone could verify if he’d...- nightrhyme

Combined Amp/Dac: dark and warm sounding
Thanx so much for all your input. I will of course in time change my headphones. But this system is not a big priority. It is only gaming and some music listening. Regarding the headphones I actually quite like the linkys and they were not chosen by accident. For instance I prefer them over...- nightrhyme

Combined Amp/Dac: dark and warm sounding
I’m perfectly happy with the lindy. It’s just for my computer. I just build a new one and for some reason the onboard sound is just terrible. Was quite nice on my old pc. I’m a full size Hifi enthusiast and this I where I my focus is. For my setup I use a custom build danish audio design dac...- nightrhyme

Combined Amp/Dac: dark and warm sounding
I am looking for a combined dac-amp with a warm and somewhat dark sound. I guess a little like the Naim sound. It doesn't have to be super well resolved or refined. The most important thing is it fits my tonal preferences. I borrowed a Beresford caiman from a friend and while the bass and...- nightrhyme

Tired of soldering Yuin pk2's. New cable needed, help
So I figured the easiest way to re-cable Yuin pk2's would be to buy a pair of a different make and steal the cable But it's hard to judge cable quality based on pictures. The cheapest I can find i my country (Denmark) is. All around 14 USD: Maxell EB 125 Abeier ACEJ-1705...- nightrhyme

Help pick a new headphone for my picky ears. Have listened to quite a few...
Quote: I too found the treble excessive in the Grado sr80, 125, 225. and in the sr325 to some extend. The best balanced of the bunch was to my ears the SR60. I don't find the HD650 treble shy. I actually found it a little sharp at times. It's just that it's constrained/confined in...- nightrhyme

Help pick a new headphone for my picky ears. Have listened to quite a few...
So I auditioned the Sennheiser HD650's. Hmm well they are the best I have heard so far. However I found them a bit too laid back and a bit attack unwilling if that makes any sense . Moreover, I had this strange feeling of a constrained or closed in treble as all the...- nightrhyme
