This is all good. No offense taken and I agree with many of your points as well. Cable mess What sort of production workflow do you have, that allows for "occasional" cable mix-up ? When customers started complaining, your immediate reaction was: "customers do not know how to plug a cable...

We have seen 2 units so far with this issue of the units shipped. We have added additional QC steps to prevent this in future since the issue was caused by a misunderstanding of the assembly procedure. The issue is not between real leather vs fake leather here. When we did measurements and...

    Audeze LCD-4

When inner fidelity was around, we had a very lengthy article on Audeze LCD4 and Audeze's philosophy on tuning. Our R&D team also writes the technology articles on our site. https://www.audeze.com/blogs/technology-and-innovation Recently when RTings.com posted incorrect measurements on our...

Yes. He works with the R&D team and it is a collaboration. Because of customer base (Sound engineers, musicians etc), we also spend significant amount of time in studios and get feedback. Manny is part of the Audeze team and has been an Audeze user since 2014.

    Audeze LCD-4

This is wrong and incorrect. All the LCDs from LCD1(original) to LCD4, LCD5 and Mobius to Maxwell were tuned by our R&D team. We have had the same team from the beginning and they continue working on all our products. Alex's tuning or Sankar's tuning etc is BS. There is no such thing. Many of...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

What do you mean audio comes out and then it dies ? if you go to the control panel screen for audio and keep it open. First plug in the dongle and see if the active device switches to Maxwell in the audio control panel. When it dies, do you see the audio device switch to a different device ?

I am using Maxwells almost every day. Using different firmwares and different Maxwell units and I don't come across this issue. Dongle always takes priority. Can you check if there is any other audio device driver or virtual sound card that is changing priorities ?

You are mixing two different things here. The 3D rendering inside PS5 is Tempest engine. The out of Tempest can be stereo or binaural or 5.1 over HDMI etc. What is new here is the addition of Dolby Atmos stream over HDMI. most 3D formats like Atmos has two parts. The 3D format (objects...

    Audeze CRBN Interview, Review, Measurements

Apologies for the issues. Can you confirm the dates ? Jan and March 2022 ? We had proactively asked our distributors to send old and demo units. If you DM me your serial number, I can take a look at the internal QC checks. On the imbalance issue, we would like to talk to you to figure out the...

Take for example the AI noise removal and beam forming. When you remove the boom mic, the inbuilt mics take over and AI beam forming kicks in automatically. When using wireless, portions of the board get powered off automatically to preserve battery. Noise gate sliders have been replaced by AI...

Some issues are a little bit more complicated than others. The LDAC/Custom EQ is a chipset issue. We had to go back to the chipset vendor to get this fixed, rolled into a new SDK etc.

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Yes. This is changing the EQ on the headset. The changes are a little more subtle compared to other headsets where some of the EQ modes are weirdly jacked up, to the point things like "cinema mode" are almost unlistenable. But you should be able to notice difference with presets like footsteps...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Maxwell doesn't have inbuilt 3D audio like Mobius. It uses the 3D engine in Xbox or Playstation or PC. So if you want a headphone with built-in 3D, Maxwell won't work

Soundstage - This is very tricky. Our goal wav to have very accurate non exaggerated soundstage. We also have to keep in mind that a lot of people will use this with Tempest audio and Dolby Atmos. So if we have exaggerated sound stage, things don't sound good on Atmos and it can get blurry. Our...

There is no big secret here. We will keep fine tuning these and will also work with the community in releasing a wide variety of presets for different games in future. With custom EQs we see people sharing their presets. The format is an XML file and anyone should be able to tweak it easily.

There are two NN accelerators. With the boom microphone, it just goes through the Noise removing NN accelerator. With the embedded mic, the signal goes through both NN accelerators. First the noise removal and the second one is dedicated to beam forming. The noise removal on both is the same...

These tests are for compliance to standards. Not necessarily performance tests on range etc. Every country/region has their own range and criteria. In addition the Maxwell has both transmitter and receiver for wireless. So there are few more reports than usual bluetooth headsets.

There is no leak. You can pretty much find this information for any headset. For example here is the one for Bathys - https://fcc.report/FCC-ID/OV3-BATHYS/6011275

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

The problem is actually not the Penrose mic. The mics on Mobius and Penrose are the same. The issue is with Bluetooth and wireless protocols. For low latency, when you use BT, the audio codec switches to SCO in Penrose. This results in a low latency mic connection, but with lower quality codec...

Audeze - Our Maxwell Gaming Headsets! (latest: Firmware v61 and HQ v97)

Maxwell does not have this feature. I can see how this feature would be useful. It requires an app running on the PC to monitor the games running and then send a message to headset to switch the EQ profile. Since PeaceEQ runs in the PC and also does the EQ is the PC, this is easier to implement...
