Millet Max Hybrid Problem
Took the amp out of storage where it had been for a couple of years. Tubes seem to be okay, both glow and voltage is stable. Right MOSFET channel measures 0 mV no matter what - turn the trimpot all the way clockwise, then 10-20 turns counterclockwise, nothing, although sometimes the...- daggerlee

Ety ER4 recable
Hi all, My ER4Ps wire finally gave out on me. Thinking of doing a recable but not sure what wire to use - been out of the HF game for a while. I think I'd like to try copper cable to see how it sounds, should be different compared to the stock SPC. I want the cable to be as thin as possible...- daggerlee

Date: Saturday Jan. 31st 2009 Time: 1:30 PM *** I picked 1:30PM to give everybody time to eat before they get here, as we don't have any good restaurants on campus (besides the 7/11!) The canteen is managed by Cafe de Coral and is about one or two steps below an actual retail Cafe de...- daggerlee

If anybody is ordering from Mouser soon...
(I posted this in the FS forums, but it didn't seem to get much attention. Trying here.) If anybody is ordering from Mouser soon, I was wondering if I could hop in for on part. It's part # 161-7300-EX, a Kobiconn 1/8" jack I need for a portable headphone amp. As you can see, it only costs...- daggerlee

Simple electricity question...
the LED in my amp is receiving 2.2-2.4V, which is not enough. I want to increase it to 3.2V. The resistor LED measures 10K ohms. How much should I lower the resistor to get 3.2 ohms? Or do I need more information? Thanks- daggerlee

Hooking up a sub to a T-amp
Hi all, Looking to connect a sub to a t-amp. The sub has high-level inputs but not outputs. So should I run a set of wires from the t-amp to the sub, and then a set of wires from the t-amp to the spakers? Will that be harmful to the t-amp? These are single driver, efficient speakers by the...- daggerlee

High efficiency speakers around $500
Looking for a pair of speakers for my Trends Audio TA-10 T-amp, which outputs 2x15W. From what I've been reading high efficiency speakers are generally at the $2k price point, but I was just wondering if anybody knew of some around the much more modest $500 price point! Say, at least 90dB or...- daggerlee

Stable Rockbox for 4G for use with MP3s?
Sorry if this has been asked before... I am using Rockbox right now (iMod 4G) and it works great with FLAC, very rarely locks up. But with MP3s it will lock up pretty frequently. I remember reading somewhere on here of a stable build for use with MP3s, but can't find the post anymore. Can...- daggerlee

When I play vinyl, I can hear the music very tinnily being emitted from the turntable itself. I assume this is because it's not grounded properly? It's a 1970s Dual with the seperate grounding cable...- daggerlee

Hook up wire for AC power - what size?
So I need some wire to hook up my IEC inlet to my power supply (110V). Is there any general rules I should follow about what size wire to use? I have some 24awg solid core copper I was hoping to use. The power supply will draw around 100 mA. Should I use thicker wire? Sorry if this has been...- daggerlee

Notorious BIG - Ready to Die sound quality
To those who own the original issue of the Notorious BIG - Ready to Die, question: do you hear popping sounds on some of the songs on the album (like Juicy, Respect)? I got my copy second hand, the CD has a lot of visible sploches on it but ripped fine using Max (which is like EAC for the... -
6 pin connector?
Was looking to make the DAC daughterboard of my Zhaolu DAC swappable, so would need a six pin connector - R+, R-, RG, L+, L-, LG. Does anybody know of any, or would it better to use 2 mini XLR jacks/plugs? I saw on partsexpress there's a Molex 6 pin one, but that seems to be for power...- daggerlee

would a STEPS be appropriate for this?
pardon the newbiness of this question, I am only good at stuffing boards, not so good at understanding the electronics behind them I want to build a +/-15V power supply for my Hagtech Bugle. The power supply that Hagtech offers has +15V/GND and -15V/GND outs, whereas the STEPS only has one...- daggerlee

Wiring up BNC jacks
I've got some BNC jacks on the way to replace the coaxial ones in my Zhaolu. Just a question, I'm going to use some coax as hookup wire. What would be best appropriate to use as ground - the shielding of the coax wire, or just normal hookup wire? Also, I'm adding a RCA jack as well - should it...- daggerlee

Like the title says - recevied a brand new T-Amp plus the 13.7V adapter from parts express that everybody recommends. I tried it with just batteries and it works fine. Differences among AD843 models
Looking at the AD843 opamps on Digikey, the AD843JNs, aka. the ones Tangent has tested on his opamp pages, are soldout. But I see the AD843KNZ are in stock. Both are DIP8 and seem to have the same specs. Would I be able to use the KNZ in place of the JN without any problems? Also ,these are...- daggerlee

Removing Volume Knob
Trying to remove a volume knob, I've unscrewed the little screw holding it in place but the thing won't budge - it's flush with the face so I can't insert anything in between and pry either. I tried heating it up with a hairdryer but nothing happened. Any ideas? tips?- daggerlee

Integrating HagUSB into Zhaolu D2
I've got a HagUSB and Zhaolu D2, and I'd like to put the Hag inside the Zhaolu, just for convenience sake. Right now I have them connected using a Bluejeans digitial coax cable through RCA jacks.
