I use "Wonder Solder" that I got from Michael Percy Audio - works well. I think the percentages are a secret :) - a wee bit cheaper than Cardas.- sandbasser

New Millett Hybrid MiniMAX (what happened to this thread?)
What tomb says is quite true... it's definitely easier than it sounds to replace the tube LEDs. Personally, I like the 'color change' LEDs that are on the beezar site. But, I'll admit they might not be everybody's cup of tea.- sandbasser

Ferrari - Beautiful... Do those stacked BUF634 buffers really help enough to justify the added cost??? I'd like to see a photo of the bottom of the setup. I'm curious how the Sikorels connect (and the other stuff too). Thanks for sharing - your work is inspirational to a noobie like...- sandbasser

Trying to get started in DIY - advice?
Best advice I can give... triple check your orders to DigiKey, Mouser and the like. else you'll get stuff you don't need and will likely never need... and thus you will have to go through the hassle of returning it. And, hold on to your wallet- sandbasser

Just another cmoy pcb ..
Very nice. Just a question ... Why did you choose to tombstone the resistors when you have all that space available??? Please don't consider this as an attack... I'm thinking about doing some design on my own and I'm just curious about design alternatives. Thanks,- sandbasser

What do you use to hold cables as you solder?
If you're fortunate enough to have a Harbor Freight Tools store nearby they almost always have "Third Hand-type" devices on sale for under 5 bucks - usually way under dRummie - I love Make mag and their associated web site.- sandbasser

AMB Mini3 capacitor question
The "crazy" (crazy in quotes ) thing about tantalums is that the "+" leg is marked not the "-" leg of polarized electrolytics. Leads to dummies like me putting them in backwards. Luckily, very luckily, I've never had one blow. YET- sandbasser

Simple Inrush Current Limiter for power supply
A lot of the PSU designs on diyAudio forum use SL60-type Thermistors for in-rush current limiting. Browse around over there and I'm sure you'll find lots of info. Look at the PassLabs area.
