we are approaching the beging of actual change in the Bluetooth voice space. while Bluetooth has made a lot of headroom in music/movies the stagnation and vaporware never seems to end in the conference calls / voice vaporware battle. aptx voice (as part of " snapdragon sound ") and super...- cloneman

Connect wired 3.5mm microphone to a Bluetooth device that has a built in mic?
One of the best cheap ways to get music in your car is to use the 3.5mm output of a bluetooth receiver dongle. Something like this, for example https://www.aptx.com/products/ugreen-bluetooth-receiver-audio-adapter This has the advantage of you not being tied your car's terrible bluetooth...- cloneman

Bluetooth Receiver with Wired mic (e.g. 3.5mm)?
There are a lot of bluetooth receivers that output to 3.5mm, in order to make wired headphones wireless. However, most of these feature a built-in microphone, often of average quality. I would like one that has a 3.5mm port that can pass through a microphone that's id tape to my headphones. The...- cloneman

Do TWS 3rd gen and aptx Voice have a minimum snapdragon chipset requirement? Will it work with Snap 855 or do you need a newer one?- cloneman

I bought these because of aptX Adaptive and AptX Voice (finally! not vaporware!) I hope that the built-in mic is good and I will get wired-like phone call quality (though I wouldn't mind a boom-mic add-on in the future, somehow. I've never used a detachable IEM before, and I'm not really a...- cloneman

NEW Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95 ANC Headphones - Reviews & Impressions
How can I tell if aptX Adaptive is working? My android device says it's using aptX HD. I'm curious weather I can get the 80ms advertised low-latency for casual gaming (e.g. Sonic 2 for android, or beat stomper). Also, side question, what is the voice codec that is being used, is it mSBC?- cloneman

Help - How the eardrum moves: Bass vs Treble, Sealed vs Non-Sealed IEM
Hi everyone: I am trying to prove that people with Tympanostomy_tubes surgically installed in their eardrum (to relieve pressure or drain liquid from the middle ear), should be avoiding certain types of ear-sealing headphones, or certain types of bass. Most of the people who get this minor...- cloneman

How about a new equipment forum for wireless gear?

Sennheiser RS 165, RS 175, RS 185, RS 195 - Impressions thread
A few options, you could get a cheap adapter to convert non-optical SPDIF to optical, if available, or use optical output of your TV possibly. Or, an inline device that converts HDMI to HDMI+toslink. Not all elegant options, but they exist. There should be some combination that will allow you to...- cloneman

allergic to audiophile grade stuff?
It seems every time I pick up something in the 150$+ wired range I'm disappointed. Granted, I don't have many opportunities to use said equipment, mainly because I'm super satisfied with 50$ wired equivalents, things like the Jaybird X2, the Koss Portapro, Logitech UE 4000, SteelSeries H...- cloneman

Hi everyone. I recently picked up the RS 175 and I have an RS185 add-on on the way. I find the RS 175's sound jarring compared to my SteelSeries H. I can't quantify exactly why my ears don't like it yet. I'm starting to play with Peace EQ...- cloneman

Koss Portapro Replacement - another PORTABLE headphone please (extreme basshead)
Hello, I tried getting some full-size headphones to upgrade my current setup of Fiio E5 + Koss Portapro. After trying DT770pro/80ohm, (insufficient bass), and MDR-XB700 (enough bass, but of the wrong "type") i've decided that full-size headphones are not for me (at least, not for music...- cloneman

FAKE sony xb700's WATCH OUT
I looked at ebay before buying my xb700. The packaging looks fake , and theres a lot of hong kong sellers so I was pretty sure they were fake. I bought mine from onhop.ca for 130$ all in. Yes, it's 79$ everywhere in the US, *clap*- cloneman

DT770 Pro 80hm and Zero Amplifier.... 350$ Later, and not the bass I wanted :/
I think the problem is that I'm not cut out for full-size headphones. The only time I was able to achieve the bass I wanted was with portable headphones (Koss TNT-55) connected to a particular sound card, placed on my uh, cheekbone? Almost completely off my ears. Then I could safely crank it up...- cloneman

Got the Sony XB700 today, and I think I like them so far. I still want more boom though :^D. I've got issues, I guess heh. I'm spoiled by Logitech 2.1 systems with the subwoofer knob.... All the other gear is for sale now :^) Part of the problem is likely my computer soundcard, which...- cloneman

I'm guessing the lame Sony stores in Canada won't have that unit on demo... I'll just have to take another chance. DT770 Pro 80hm and Zero Amplifier.... 350$ Later, and not the bass I wanted :/
I definitely have the PRO version. The bass is incredibly weak unamped , or with the FiioE5. Recently, I'm finding almost all bass inadequate, except the Fiio E5 + Koss portapro with some sound cards (but not all). This setup was supposed to take the soundcard out of the equation , but it looks...- cloneman
