Headphone Recable Wire Separator
You can wrap the very ends in a little teflon tape, heatshrink over that, then heatshrink over the joint. It works well for me. Alternately, using the spare outer casing from a connector works too, just heatshrink over the whole thing.- John E Woven

Posts per page
Can we have more than 15 posts per page ? It takes forever to do anything with so few posts per page, since you have to click next so often. It also inturrupts your train of thought if you're reading through a huge thread. 40 posts per page would be great.- John E Woven

Sound Impact of Cabling - D2000
I recabled my D2000 when I had them, and it made a big difference. I don't even believe in cables, but the denon cable was just that terrible. It's also very, very easy to recable. I see no reason not to recable a denon.- John E Woven

Remedy for a jammed 1/8'' jack?
superglue might be better for something like this. the super thin liquid kind, squirt out a tiny bit onto a plastic lid like the kind you get from a bottle cap, and use a toothpick to apply a tiny drop of that to the broken off jack, and it should do perfectly.- John E Woven

neutrik np3c plug
that won't work. The actual jack part is 'pushed' to the front by the strain relief. not using it would just have the actual jack part just fall into the plug enclosure.- John E Woven

neutrik np3c plug
That part is a strain relief, and also holds the cable very securely in case the cable the cable is pulled (like if someone tripped over a cable). Even with the cutting, these plugs are some of the more durable plugs I've used. If you insist though, I've had good luck with the Vampire wire...- John E Woven

neutrik np3c plug
the third piece from the left has has the part to grip the cable; the little notches are a bit much though, so try sanding off those little claw bits. the pressure should still keep it in place. The profile of each of the three protrusions looks like the top part; file off or cut off part of...- John E Woven

Shure SE530 Appreciation Thread
every time I put in the SE530, it amazes me. These are some of the best earphones I've ever heard, and some of the most comfortable. Yes, the Triple.Fi10 does have slightly better sound quality (more extended highs, slightly clearer), but it doesn't sound as natural as the SE530.- John E Woven
