Recabling or Reshelling a broken Westone 3

Yeah, I think the reshell costs would be quite a bit, together with impressions, but I wouldn't really mind if the benefits of a custom mould pay off.  I wouldn't actually mind a long waiting time with BTG, since I got a pair of VSonic GR06 as a temporary earphone (actually damn good...

Recabling or Reshelling a broken Westone 3

Hey everyone,    I am not exactly sure if this threat belongs here or in the IEM section, so I'm going to give it a shot, please, forgive me if it's not in the right one.  I have a pair of Westone 3, which I love to every bit, until the day that the right ear stopped working. Upon...

Fiio e11 worth upgrading from fiio e6?

Quote: I can't talk about FiiOs as I have yet to hear the later ones, but I need to address your point...I have Westone 3s and they cost 250 pounds in the UK, which is about $300, I think. It doesn't always have to be the case that more expensive headphones profit more from amping.

L> IEMS that are durable and good quality under 100

Quote: I would not, but since Wanted is so keen on the looks... so I guessed the sound would make him happy, since Wanted probably doesn't have such a trained ear. I have lots of friends with Beats and and Boses and after listening to all my headphones/ earphones they stated they are all...

IMO, wrapping around an iPod is a killer, specially with a straight plug.

    IEMs for ~$75

I wouldn't go for Vmoda, specially Vibes if it's a bass-hater. as far as I knwo, they have quite a bit of bass. If your friend doesn't mind earbuds, I would recommend Yuin ok2, I am not exactly sure how much they retail for but it might be what he needs- really decent clarity, comfortable and...

L> IEMS that are durable and good quality under 100

^ don't think Wanted can be told that, just let him choose on looks.    @Wanted: they might look good but you might end up paying much more than what you get. Ultimately, it's your decision so as far as you are happy, it's fine

Recommendation for a pair of fun cans ~100GBP??

I had the NS1000, it was a really nice pair of cans. They were really good for Pop and rock, haven't tried them for metal and hip hop.    Bass was really nice, punchy with a good resolution and spacing. out of sub 100pounds, this is the one I found that had the best bass.  comfort was also...

I only heard the beats... the bass is overpowering and eats the details... plus quite pricey for that performance. but Thierry Henry uses them ;)

L> IEMS that are durable and good quality under 100

it's really hard to say which are fake and which are not as the fakes are so well done. Amazon is supposed to be legit, ebay is 50/50. You would do best here on head-fi. here, I tried to search and found this:  ...

Beware of fakes, my friend... Turbines and monsters are popular faked earphones. Turbines as in coppers or simply turbines?

L> IEMS that are durable and good quality under 100

the Re-ZERO can throw some off balance with the balanced jack, with is, if you are unamped, a pain to carry. the pro gold are a really great choice of you can stretch, new are expensive, second hand would be fine but... I would be afraid of fakes in case of eBay.

not really, just give yourself some time. Maybe people can't recommend you. I am confused, you say you want IEMS in the tittle but you send us pictures of headphones. you do say it, but I don't really get it.  and these are a lil above your budget. If you want cool looking phones, try...

    REVIEW: A Novice's Take on Sennheiser's MX580

thanks, that is really helping! I use IEMs as well, but my girlfriend always prefers earbuds and she is really small ears :-\  So you say the mx471 have relatively tight and impactful bass?

    REVIEW: A Novice's Take on Sennheiser's MX580

hey Kurtzi, have you ever tried the Yuin PK3? Could you do any comparison to the mx471? I think they look so awesome and are really cheap in UK. Also, how is the housing? Is it the new 'smaller' or the old huge one?    Cheers!
