grado repairs
Hi everyone, So I have a Grado SR325is, and was wondering where one could find one of those little black end-pieces that allow the headphones to adjust up/down without the cup falling off of the headband. They are extremely tiny and one of mine fell off, and now I have almost disassembled...- hmp406

The Next Step Up
I'm leaning towards the silver only because the headroom is hidden and my macbook pro, wireless keyboard, hard drive are all in that aluminum finish. Well, I got a couple of new jobs lined up so as soon as the credit cards are paid off I know what I'm splurging on- hmp406

Excellent resource -- I PMed him and he hasn't listened to the 325is but suggested the Woo WA6 tube amp. Any other suggestions? Or experiences with that amp?- hmp406

The Next Step Up
Budget would probably be ~300-500 dollars. I like the warm tube sound. Basically I want the nice warm bassy feel I get listening to my friends' vinyl setups. What amps are good for this? Thanks for suggesting an amp upgrade.- hmp406

The Next Step Up
Hi there, My rig so far is this: Grado SR325is -- Little Dot I+ w/ GB408a Tubes -- Headroom Micro DAC -- Macbook Pro S/PDIF. I think the weak part of the chain is the headroom micro DAC. What should I upgrade it to? Best, Harrison- hmp406

My next upgrade
Here's my rig so far. It's pretty basic but I enjoy it. I want fuller, more enveloping sound, however. And with Grados I know a lot of it feels like an enclosed space, some smoky cramped club (which I do like). What part of my rig should I upgrade next? Macbook Pro - Headroom Micro...- hmp406

well everything came in and after ~30 hours burn in i love these 325is headphones. i am putting them through their paces with "the lemon of pink" by the books and the album becomes 100% more fun. the 325is is even... gasp... stylish when paired with a macbook pro. grado, your alloy completes...- hmp406

Super Pro DAC707 or Tianyun ZERO?
Hi, I just bought this rig: Little Dot I+ >> Sylvania 408a Gold Series Tubes >> Grado SR325is. I've heard a lot of good things about the Tianyun, but is it really a step up over the Super Pro? I'm new to DACs and know nearly nothing about them, but I want a decent cheap one to hook up to my...- hmp406

I've used a VM running windows in the past with winamp -- not a bad combination, but i don't have enough lossless audio yet to compare winamp to itunes (~5 albums). Back to the current issue ... what decent sub-$150 DACs are out there with an optical in? I'm willing to go the USB route but...- hmp406

Well the little dot i+ came in the mail today, and so did my sylvania 408a gold series tubes. Initial impressions of the stock 6zi tubes are great out of the box with excellent drum detail. The gold series tubes I think need more burn-in time, being NOS, before I say anything about them. With...- hmp406

Well the little dot is on its way, & i've seen a couple good deals on the sr325is lately, but wanted more info from the seller before i took that plunge. Huzzah for pillaging the checking account! As far as DACs go, I don't think I'm going to be a big fan of firewire DACs like the apogee...- hmp406

The apogee duet sounds like a very nice addition down the line. I am all for a high quality DAC but until I can save another 450-500 it will have to wait for now. Thanks for a great idea How do the stock tubes on the little dot I+ compare against the WE408 tubes they offer for $50 more? -h- hmp406

Hi there, I have a pair of SR80s whose sound I appreciated for a little while, but after testing out the 325is at a local store, I have decided to move up the sound chain a little. Reading these forums a little while have helped influence my decision, so here's my question... Would a...- hmp406
