Sennheiser HD 600 Impressions Thread
i feel kind of the same way. i've heard a variety of the cheaper Senns over the years, even owned several of them. while they can be fine, i have always felt that Senn really only starts with the HD 600. it's been forever since i've heard one, but i have been a longtime owner of the HD 650...- TheAnomaly

BLIND TEST: 128kbps mp3 vs Lossless
great idea for a thread, this is something i've been "investigating" lately as well. i did not read any posts in the thread or read the poll results before listening. i loaded them into foobar and used replaygain - i was quite certain which file was lossless and upon reading around the thread it...- TheAnomaly

Monster Miles Davis Tribute thread
Quote: yes they were both from Monster themselves, sealed retail packaging and all of that. Monster's service is so great that i was actually upgraded to the MDT after my previous MTPGs failed. again, not too impressive on the QC side, but very impressive on the service side. Quote...- TheAnomaly

Monster Miles Davis Tribute thread
have a lot people been having QC issues with their MDT? (a quick search yields relatively few complaints, though some are similar to mine) my first pair developed a tendency to produce static and even shock my ear. now my second pair is having some contact issues with the headphone plug -...- TheAnomaly

Review and discussions - Audioengine D1 24/96 USB and Optical DAC/amp for laptops and computers
have you guys had any issues with the D1 making a popping sound or producing static when moving around with the headphones connected? i had this problem with my last DAC, too, so i'm wondering if it's my headphones.- TheAnomaly

good call on that crutchfield coupon. i ordered one tonight, says it will be here Monday. nice! 2 questions: is the USB asynchronous? and does it actually support native 192khz over optical? or does it automatically downsample?- TheAnomaly

Fiio E10 shorting out headphones: is it possible?
i know the E10 has a noisy socket for some plugs. i didn't experience that problem -exactly-. but i did have two headphones mysteriously fail after a week or two of use with the Fiio. first, my IEMs: they developed a crackly sound when moving around while listening, even when i was plugged into...- TheAnomaly

New Miles Davis Trumpet (not Tribute) earphones
ah, that is interesting. my thinking basically, is that any of the turbines/trumpet/tribute will probably have a similar cable issue with time. so my decision now is based on which of my options offers the "best" sound. i really liked how the MTPG sounded (particularly the great bass response)...- TheAnomaly

New Miles Davis Trumpet (not Tribute) earphones
yea my problem with the MTPG was that the left earpiece went intermittent about a year after i got them. thank goodness for the monster lifetime warranty. unfortunately they're out of stock of the turbine pros right now but i was offered an "upgrade" to the trumpet if they aren't in by the end...- TheAnomaly

SENNHEISER INVITES YOU TO BE PART OF HISTORY - (Seeking participants)
My journey with Sennheiser began when I was about 9 years old. My dad had a pair of old Senns with yellow foam ear pads; I listened to them obsessively, growing to love them. I used them so much the pads completely wore out, almost to the point of being unwearable! Since then I have...- TheAnomaly

of amazon marketplace sellers and IE8s
the amazon marketplace has some attractive pricing on the IE8. has anybody bought from sellers like this before? not the big names like J&R and the like...but these littler ones. obviously my concern here is that they are fake...just wondering if anybody has experience with this.- TheAnomaly

Looking for New IEM's or possibly Headphones.....
i had the PFE for around a year. it was a great sounding headphone, but somewhat limited in the bass. for the op, i think it is well suited to most genres, but it may not have enough bass for rocking out. good fit for me though with the foams. so i have a related question: for those that...- TheAnomaly

HD650 is sure "doing it" for me, for now i would like a better DAC, and i'd like to balance the Senns. and i am planning to get a good quality portable rig going soon (dad's old 4th gen ipod, rockboxed + FLAC, flash memory mod + battery replacement, new portable cans). after all that...- TheAnomaly
