Something doesn't sound right here, if the M8 is turned on, working cable, driver installed, then it is a faulty unit or a problem with your usb chipset drivers, the fact you have the problem on 2 chipsets should help eliminate many of these.- some1

I saw you post your link to my thread here In response to the plastics creaking. Get some PTFE synthetic oil like Super Lube, and apply to the hinges where the headphones fold, also apply to the hinges of the ear cups, that should get rid of most of it.- some1

At the London calling meet, I saw a very large portable headphone amp dac, I was told its wolfson dac, class a and it appeared to have xlrs on the side, so it had controls and connectors on 3 sides, it was rather large, like a house brick, any ideas? It was also incredlbly expensive- some1

To open them for recabling just pry them open using a razor blade on the join between the 2 halves. There is a recabling guide in this thread somewhere.- some1
