Welcome FHJay. I wouldn't worry unduly about any tube shortages. They're plenty of NOS tubes out there, though it's a diminishing supply. The Soviet Union made hundreds of thousands, possibly millions, of the 6S19P (6C19N) tubes for their military. Then the Chinese have also made millions of...

The only matched tubes I tried in my 3322 were a pair of WE403Bs. When I tried them against a pair of unmatched 403Bs, the was no aubible difference between the two. I haven't had any matched 6S19Ps in my amp, though they're made to very high tolerances, so they'd be technically similar anyway.

I'd say it'd be good with the JVC DX1000s. The jury's still out on whether the 3322 and low impedance cans are the perfect match. Some say they're great, others not so good. I tried mine with a pair of 32ohm SUPERLUXs, and was pleasantly surprised by the sound: not as good as the high impedance...

I agree - sounds like there is an underlying design flaw with this amp. You should be able to run western tubes - which are constructed to higher standards than the Chinese tubes - without any problems.

I remember you mentioning this problem when you first looked at the interior of the 332S, Ogygia. Certainly, the old 3322 never suffered from this buzzing problem - totally silent from day one. I hope LA FIGARO get this sorted out, otherwise they'll be a lot of pi**ed off owners out there.

The DV 3322 is much better with low impedance headphones than the old 332, but I still think that it is not a perfect pairing.

Those marks on the tubes are standard on all Russian NOS tubes: just quality control checks, year of manufacture, etc. But you've the good tubes there - the 6C19N-B or in English 6S19P-V, which are the ruggedised, military spec verion of the 6C19N or 6S19P. Check the logos on the tube: if...
