$100 or less PC speakers (no subs), Bose or M-Audio?

T Amp + insignia rocks. Problem is BB (the bastards) raised the price to $90, putting you in the nose bleed area. For that much money you could also consider the JBL Control 1x. ========== But if you want ease of use, cheap and damn good sound with no sub, RUN (don't walk) to buy JBL...

Considering Slim Devices Transporter - Need Your Help - PC Music Storage Questions

As a Postscript OP.... Just remember that in (short amount of time) we'll have (blu-ray, HD DVD, hybrid) and we'll be able to put (70-120GB) of data on a disc that cost ($0.06 - $10.00) And you'll look back at the thought of killing yourself over 500gb as funny. No, it won't happen...

Considering Slim Devices Transporter - Need Your Help - PC Music Storage Questions

OP, you're overthinking this.... Let's say that by the time you take the CD out the case, rip it and put it back you're looking 5 min per disk. That's 125 hours non-stop. So let's say you average 30 minutes a day... Every. Single. Day. You're still looking at the better part of a year...

Why hasn't Apple introduced a Squeezebox "killer"?

The answer is never. Steve Jobs has made his living making stunning technology available to the masses. There where other computers before the Mac and most of them where an absolute mess. There where other MP3 players before the iPod and most of them where an absolute mess. There...

    Coby CV200

OK, so like, don't tell anybody on headfi because the might make fun of me... but my wife bought a pair of the Colby CV130s (little brother of the CV200) because they lay perfectly flat to use as a pillow speaker. Rat Shack pillow speakers suck and they where $20. We picked up these for like...

How do IEM's stand up to sealed cans?

Not to hijack this thread, but I figure this relates directly... I remember a thread from a while back where a woman was buying her husband hi-end IEMs and someone mentioned one with a "push to listen" button so they would not have to take them out to listen to someone talking to them...

    Abes Of Maine?

Abe's is OK.... just a bit slimy. Here's the deal on them and many of the other NYC type electronic houses... They won't steal your money. And they won't outright lie to you over something major.... Will they fib? Sure! -- High pressure sales? Absolutely. -- Will they take advantage of...
