Got my Genalex 6X4WAs today, and I'm pretty happy with them. I wasn't expecting to hear much of an improvement, if any, but there is a noticeable improvement. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but this new version of 2.2.0 that PS Audio just sent me sounds 100x better than the old version of 2.2.0 that I was using.   As far as I know this version is ONLY compatible with new production PWDs that came stock from PS Audio with MKII installed...

Oh, also, I just recently took my PWD off of the 'Auto' filter mode in favor of filter number 4 (I believe it's the minimum phase apodizing filter).

I'm also using 2.2.0. The reason I asked is because the newer PWDs can't be loaded with software version 2.0.3, which is supposedly preferred by many. According to the PS Audio forums, an updated digital input board is to blame, as only 2.2.0 has the drivers for it. I know Paul himself prefers...

Eric, what PWD firmware and Bridge firmware are you using?

I believe the earlier versions of the BA have tube sockets that sit flush with the top panel of the amp. The newer production versions of the amp have sockets which protrude through the top panel. I'm assuming this change was made for the exact reason you're describing. Maybe Craig (or someone...

I don't know what feet he's using, but they definitely don't come with the PWD/PWT.   Edit: Apparently those feet come with the Tranquility Base ($2,000).

I tried sending a few texts, making a phone call, and browsing the web over wifi, but it didn't replicate the noise. Hopefully it was just a fluke, or some external interference, and won't happen again.

It's already about 2 1/2 feet away, so I don't think it's the PSU. Could it possibly be cell phone interference?   As luck would have it, I haven't heard the noise since I made the post.

I really can't catch a break lately...   I just put my headphones on, and low and behold, I'm getting a sporadic staticy hiss from the left driver. It's a 4-5 second hiss that ends with a static 'click,' then it stops.   This noise still persists intermittently when the volume is set to...

I wish I could try 2.02. Unfortunately, my 'newer' PWD has some updated part that prevents the earlier firmwares from working. I'm limited to 2.2.0. Supposedly PS Audio is 'working' on a version of 2.02 that will work with the more recently manufactured units, so all users will have a choice...
