Solutions for a new system - usb 3.0?
I had been using the good 'ol emu 0404usb with my old system - built a new rig last week, new gigabyte mobo. 6 usb 3.0s, 2 usb 2.0s. I tried everything - the win7 beta drivers, every usb 3.0 controller under the sun, nothing worked. my 0404usb kept causing freezeups - even when plugged in to...- cfull

Upgrade from DT880s to.....?
I've got about 800-1200 bucks out of my yearly bonus to burn on stupid crap, and was thinking about stepping up from my DT880s - I mainly listen to rock/indie rock/pop stuff, with some japanese pop/electronic-ish sounding stuff thrown in. The DT880s seem to handle all of these well enough -...- cfull

Recommend me some rock/alt-country
The entire Old 97s discography. My favorite band of all-time. I've seen them live about 8 times, and Murry Hammond once leaned against my car in the parking lot. No lie! Also: Wilco (pre-Summerteeth for maximum altcountryness), Drive by Truckers, Whiskeytown (and the first, and ONLY the... -

UE deals at Fry's
Not the same sound signature as the triple-fi's. This was a good deal at 99. I bought these at fry's a couple months ago, then returned them when i found triple fi's on the bay from the Great Amazon Sale of 2009. Fry's is totally legit. They are a smaller chain, but their stores are MASSIVE...- cfull

Not digging the Sony hybrids with these at ALL. They fit better, but to me the sound is not as clear. They sound a lot muddier with the sonys.- cfull

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
jesus christ, 99 bucks for CABLES? I've never been a believer in cable-voodoo. Has anyone tried sticking the silicone tips that come with the new metro.fi/super.fis on these yet? when i briefly had the newer super.fi 5s, the tips felt and worked great. A set of them is 10 bucks from...- cfull

headphones for an indie post-rock kid
AKG702s aren't going to do you any good unless properly amped. Otherwise, it will be the most disappointing use of 3 or 4 hundered dollars ever. I'm not so big on the ambient stuff, but I myself am an indie pop/rock snob and I find that grados work pretty well. Or if its IEMs you are after...- cfull

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
That's UE's "eco-friendly" packaging. You get that box when you order directly from UE, I'm told. The seller I bought that from said he bought several off of amazon during the $99 gold box deal, and half of them came in this box. If you look through the slickdeals thread about this deal, you'll...- cfull

Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 Thread
Just got mine in the mail today, pretty impressed with the sound. Almost sound as good as my Beyers. ALMOST. Can't believe something that sounds like this was only 150 bucks off the 'bay. However, I am NOT impressed with the fit. My Super.fi 5s (non Pros) were so light and felt like heaven...- cfull

Ultimate Ears Superfi 5
There's a huge thread about these back a few pages. Just do a search. I just took mine back to fry's (99 bucks) because i discovered the triple-fi's going for 150 on ebay. I rather liked them, though. VERY comfortable, much more so than the Super-fi 5 Pros and Super-fi 3 Studios i've owned in...- cfull

Fake Ultimate Ears
Yeah, those aren't likely fakes. The UE Super-fi 4s retail (real world retail, not MSRP) for like what, 75 bucks? A 35 dollar starting price is not out of the ordinary for these. Quote: Originally Posted by david1978jp I knew a couple of "not-so-close look alike", but not fake. They...- cfull

Is there fake Triple.fi 10 pro?
Im assuming this thread is because of the multiple 150-200$ listings on amazon for triple-fis....i went through several of them this morning, and most of the BiNs list more than 1 as being available. Many of the listings even say "ordered from amazon last month" so I'm guessing you don't have...- cfull

New and Improved Ultimate Ears Super.Fi 5 v2.0 - Huge Sound in a Tiny Package.
I just picked these up at fry's for 99. I was pretty amazed that they even carried UEs. I once owned the Super-fi 5 pros but sold them here after they killed my ears. I bought some super-fi 3s on closeout from RadioShack in late 2006 and those have been my daily use IEMs for the office. Got...- cfull

Grados And Classical
I own Grado SR-225s and DT-880s, and the DT880s run rings around the Grado for classical. Although the Grado is the superior rock can, i find myself using them less and less as the DT880s more than hold their own in the areas the Grados excel at.- cfull
