There was unavoidable ‘history’ if you refer back in this thread. A set of very unfortunate circumstances particularly for Cees (and not only him). No hidden reasons. There’s mention below if not familiar - outlines some of those reasons (he was not being paid for any further development work...- BlackMagic

Sonnet Digital Audio: New kid on the block, well.. not really!
‘Marketing’ has much to do with it – just like some Dacs claim to be NOS but are not true designs. The Balanced subject has come up before. Some Amps claim to be … but are not true designs : ‘When we use the term 'true balanced' we mean a circuit that is balanced from input to output, as...- BlackMagic

Metrum Pavane
There’s a separate FPGA Module in original Pavane. This needs to be removed and the Digital boards then require circuit adjustments. DAC TWO Mods each contain their own FPGA.- BlackMagic

There’s logic behind a CDT offering I2S. It’s the standard digital internal interface within a CDP, so continuing that connection between separate Transport & Dac makes sense. Uncle Srajan has covered I2S more than any other : “The question is, why bother going squared? Don't standard Coax...- BlackMagic

It’s a pity the Tube restricts bit-rates but guess only enthusiasts frustrated with that. Last I knew 256kbps AAC max (CD 1411). The best way is to download their recordings. Then of course you will be hearing it through your own Dac – sort of double Daccing...- BlackMagic

Some screws are tight so as mentioned care needed to start. They don't need to be so tight. As alternative get something like 16 in one driver set (they cost very little). More than one drive head fits.- BlackMagic

Believe 2mm. Screw heads can be stripped if not careful to start with. Apply very firm pressure to screw head to get started. When screwing back again firm pressure for final small twist but not too hard.- BlackMagic
