Does dac/dap really make a difference. I. Hear something like ak240 needs a high end unemployment, to really shine. I have 846, and noticed that listening on my iPad mini retina is better than my 5s, so it got me yo perusing would picking up a high end dac/dap really improve sound quality?

I hsut put my 535s on just to check, yup 846s are a huge upgrade, worth ever penny . I loved my 535s, 846, so much livelier and pep, much faster , the tone us much richer on 846s are glorious.

  It's a huge upgrade , I own both.  It's the biggest boost in sound quality that Shure has come out with since the e500's entered the Shure lineup.  It' s definitely worth the money if you have the cash.

I've never heard the 334s myself but hear, pun intended, they are sonically legendary, especially if you like that musicality mid forward sound. Which is why I like shure, I have the 846es, how do they compare to the 334s? And how the hell do I find 334s these days, does fitear have replacement?

I haven't tried the white, in a while, I use the black which is for warm.

I suggest if you really want to see how amazing these head phones are, download Sting - A thousand years, it has a really deep rumble in the intro, and I never got the shake from other IEM's .  Intense man, intense, first time I've felt the base with an IEM.

Man did I mention how amazing these IEM's are! I'm listening to DMB , "The Stone" , live at the golden gate , freaking ridiculous the clarity and picked up nuisances.

  Oh and the e500 comment was in response to the surprising review by Alkazhar of his Roxannes and seemingly to like sonically se846's more.  Which one would find surprising given the engineering of the Roxannes and their 12 drivers.  But again someone mentions well Shure seems to always throw...

I just picked these up at the airport, I have the se535, I know people will say it's sacrilege but the E500's I owned were better sounding but they had an unfortunate ending, in any case, the se535 replaced them but for me the sound signature of the e500 was better as well as the way it filled...
