Definitely not the e12, it does this if it's just plugged straight into the PC or phone as well. Beginning to think it's broken. I assume that audio cables don't matter that much and I can just buy a cheap one from best buy/amazon?

Nope, doesn't appear to but I'll look at it closer. I don't have any other cables but I can pick one up at best buy tomorrow I bet. 

Just got them in the mail today along with the e12, but I'm having an issue with the 3.5mm cable, when I plug it into the amp or just my phone I get really warped sound sometime and I have to turn and push the cable end to fix it (and it often happens multiple times). Is this just a bad cable?

So Mad Dogs with a Fiio E12? Will this be good for albums like Run the Jewels or Wolf? Also still checking out an AMP recommended to me by Vincent but for now this is the planned setup.

Alright then, if I do get the Mad Dogs, will it work well with a portable AMP? They don't seem too big in the pictures so I wouldn't mind bringing them around some places. Would a Fiio E12/E17 work?
