Ouch. That's about a week more, literally 24/7. Question: for burning in dynamic 'phones, does the sound have to be reasonably loud, and cover a wide frequency range?

As I said, my iE7’s look just like the "real" photos above, except for the colour of the plug. I gave them about 20 hours of burn-in when I got them, plus about 10 hours of listening since. I think they sound better than my Etymotic HF2's, so I'm content with that, for about the same price.

FWIW, my E09K can barely drive (at 3:00) my AKG K340 electrostatic hybrid headphones (400 Ohms). Some people might want it louder. Off topic, maybe, but not off the title of the thread. I'm piggybacking, not highjacking, now that the first question of the thread is resolved.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Mishima soundtrack, which is like a sound system demo disk with strong melodies and rhythms. I'm also surprised that no one has posted to this thread in six years, but I guess I'm new to behaviors in such forums.

I got my K340’s in the 80's, still stock except for the rubber bands. I'd like to get the soft-leather pads from KT88 and put in cloth screens to replace the plastic grills, without destroying the grills. The threads about these things are years old. How do I proceed at this point in time?
