I have a birthday coming up and €400 to spend on cans
So I'm looking at either HiFiman Sundara or Sennheiser HD 650 but is of course open to alternatives to those two, hence this post. I value comfort above almost all else, and my previous headphones, AKG K701 were the comfiest headphones I have ever used with velour pillows and weighing in at...- VresiBerba

Why can't I start a new thread anywhere else...
Right, that's why. Your explanation kind of made no sense, like at all without that information. Okay, weird rule and even weirder execution, but whatever. Thanks.- VresiBerba

Noise in headphones with extention cord
I also just found out during re-soldering of the connector that the female connector on the cheap ebay extension-cable-without-shield reverses the polarity. So, in a way you were correct after all, labrat; the cable was too cheap -- VresiBerba

Noise in headphones with extention cord
I DID mention the headphone brand and model, which has a 4-pole connector, and said, and I quote "but is only 3-pole" in the opening post as well as "except of course that they're 3-pole" ion another post, both implying, unless you think my headphones are mono, it's a 4-pole connector. ...- VresiBerba

Noise in headphones with extention cord
No. You suggested there was a problem with a lacking shield. This was wrong. I described the 3-pole dilemma in the opening post. (Edit; it's actually the other way around) Not necessarily, since the 3.5mm to 6.35mm adaptor worked, and that has three poles as well. The reason the...- VresiBerba

Noise in headphones with extention cord
Temporary solution until my now recently bought, cheap, 1 dollar ebay 4-pole 3.5mm connector arrives. From the left; female end of the 3.5mm, 3-pole, cheap ebay extension cable without shield; a 6.35mm to 3.5mm adaptor; a 3.5mm to 6.35mm adaptor; 3.5mm, 4-pole headphone connector. Works. And...- VresiBerba

Noise in headphones with extention cord
And like I said, I have cables to other headphones that are NOT shielded which works just fine. Evidently, the lack of a shield is NOT the problem. A not particularly good one, though. Indeed, and I have identified the problem as thus; the ground pin on a 4-pole 3.5mm connector...- VresiBerba

Noise in headphones with extention cord
That wasn't particularly helpful. Why does it need to be shielded, none of my cables to my other headphones are shielded. And the connectors are just fine, except of course that they're 3-pole.- VresiBerba

Noise in headphones with extention cord
I have a couple of Bose QC 25 that I plan on using at home during apartment renovation next door and needed an extension cord to my amplifier, but I get extreme noise and crackling while using it. It's a cheap, 3 meter long ebay one (not that it should matter) but is only 3-pole (if that has...- VresiBerba

Looking for a decent and cheap USB DAC
I already have an amp (Class A "JLH" Ebay kit, slightly modified), currently in the process of refurbishing my old Philips HP-890 and need a decent but cheap USB DAC to use with my computer. Anyone have any suggestions? Preferably in a kit form from Ebay, and no more than, say around 30 US dollars.- VresiBerba
