Personally I've never found the m50s with that much bass, and as mentioned above my iPod should be able to drive the w1000x. I'm hoping someone can confirm this a bit more for me. I'm not looking for just a small step up from them I'm looking something with a much better sound and that's worth...

So I'm better off sticking with the m50s and buying a good portable DAC instead? I wouldn't be worried about breaking them, I don't throw headphones around and they would usually stay on my head for the most par or in my bag when not in use. Getting them stolen wouldn't be too much of a concern...
