Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
Can someone go into more depth about the 598, AD700, or 558 sound quality? I understand that they're good for positional accuracy, but I want something that immerses me as well.- Ketonic

Sound Card or Mixamp
Quote: Sounds good. Thanks for the help! Would the Asus Xonar DG be a quality upgrade? Or do I need to spend a little more?- Ketonic

Sound Card or Mixamp
Quote: Yes, I was on my Xbox before I built my PC a few weeks ago. If I get a sound card then I could use headphones and a clip-on mic correct? I'm really just interested if the Astro Mixamp is better or worse than a sound card.- Ketonic

Sound Card or Mixamp
Hi guys. I'm loving the help I've been getting so far. I've settled on a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 80s for music listening and probably gaming as well. I currently have the Astro a40 2013 system. I don't think my motherboard's sound card outputs Dolby Digital (MSI 970a-g46 if anybody wants to...- Ketonic

Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Gaming Guide: (8/18/2022: iFi GO Blu Review Added)
I recently picked up some Beyer DT 770 80s to use mostly for music, but I tried them with my Astro mixamp and they're so much better than the a40s! The a40s just sounded artificial, although the explosions sounded a little bit better. Would I be well off using my Beyers for gaming and music, or...- Ketonic

Feeling overwhelmed! Please help!
Quote: Thanks for the recommendation, but I'm going to stick to closed headphones. I may look at some open ones for gaming eventually, but I want something I can use at work that won't disturb others. Thanks again!- Ketonic

Quote: Will do. Thanks for your help. I think I'll be keeping the Beyers to use with music and probably gaming. One last question. How much of a step up will the AD-700s be for gaming? I've spent a lot of time at the first thread already and it sounds like they lack bass. I like to have...- Ketonic

Quote: Thanks for the help! I was actually thinking about selling my Astro system in favor of a dedicated sound card and headphones now that I'm into PC gaming. Would an Asus sound card be better (or as good as) the Astro mixamp? I actually just tried the Mixamp on my Xbox to compare...- Ketonic

Feeling overwhelmed! Please help!
Quote: Thanks! Would it be a good idea to get a dedicated sound card then? I was thinking about it anyways to get virtual surround sound for gaming, but I wasn't sure if it would be better than my Astro Mixamp. I was thinking about the Asus Xonar DGX. I don't really download music...- Ketonic

Feeling overwhelmed! Please help!
Thanks for the help so far guys. I'll typically be plugging them into my motherboard sound card, as I don't have a dedicated one yet. I can tell that the MOBO I have at work produces better audio then the one I have at home. I'll be using them with my iPhone a little bit too. I also stream...- Ketonic

Feeling overwhelmed! Please help!
Beats Studio were my first pair of $20+ headphones, shortly followed by Bose QC15s after they broke. I know neither of these are very respected on this forum or the headphone community, and I went out searching for another pair. I'll be using these exclusively for music listening at work...- Ketonic
