Anyone make it work with USB C on PC? I have an XPS 15, and when I plug it in I get all kinds of error diagnostics only. Then "no audio device is installed." My pixel 2 DAC works fine.

Thanks for all posts. After reading up, I ordered one and got it today. By far the best USB sound from my Pixel 2 so far. This and Astell & Kern bluetooth are only keepers for headphones of all I have tried.

Anyone have a suggestion for RE 600s alternative with a little heavier bass? I mostly listen to Spotify on Android, and would like to avoid EQ if I could (for a variety of reasons.) Love the fit and sound of RE600s. Any thoughts?

I have used it with Pixel 2 w/aptX HD, and head and shoulders above any phone output I have ever heard. I tried first gen aptX and was very disappointed, but this is good. My guess is that A&K is a big part of it, but I have not tried any other aptX HD so far. Well worth $100.

I looked at a lot of those. Most are no longer available, or not in the US. And only one or two would work for what I was looking for -- a car setup. Spotify content is all CD quality or compressed from CD quality, hence 44.1 sampling rate.

That is fascinating, and it makes perfect sense since they do pretty much the same thing. I'm curious how the 44.1/48k gets handled. Isn't Chromecast Audio 48k only? A big disadvantage of Chromecast is Google restrictions on using it in a car setting with a phone hotspot. I read someplace...

I'm dumbfounded that nobody has done a quality add-on Spotify Connect receiver yet. I have had a Yamaha receiver with it built in for years now -- would be better for 44.1 than Goog-A.

I have a Pixel 2 and tried the Razer dongle -- similar results. Its better using the Neutron USB driver but still not great, imo. Right now I'm in love with my new A&K bluetooth receiver so may put this on hold for a bit. I do like this thing though! I don't know if Razer has handled it...

I do that every day with my Pixel and it does not have BT 5 (car BT for phone + A&K for media).

I think I figured out what is going on. Might be a bug in Pixel's BT setup. I have phone connection disabled for A&K in Android. It won't connect automatically. If I enable the phone connection, it works as you would expect.

FYI, that has nothing to do with BT 5. My Galaxy SIII did it years ago, as does current Pixel. iPhone is finally getting around to modernizing its BT, I guess.

I don't have the car connectivity issues some have. Just interested in procedures specific to A&K. I will experiment some more with just turning on the AK. Thanks!

Have you heard of any updates to aptX? Looking at A&K description of the codecs, it seemed that it might be possible to get a lossless CD quality given higher speeds. All the hype is on higher resolutions, but lossless CD quality would be a more practical step forward.

I figured this out. You can disable BT media or phone for each connection. So you can have BT for phone + separate BT for media, or BT phone + USB/3.5 for media.

The head unit that came in my car is actually ok, but bluetooth audio is not. And its hard to make car phone controls work right after replacing the unit. So had to find another solution, with phone which has no headphone jack.

1. Phone broadcasts aptX HD bluetooth 2. A&K receives it, does its thing, and then sends it to aux input of car stereo.

What I plan to do with it is to use it for BT music in car, while using car BT (which sounds awful) for typical phone calls. Android allows you to do separate BT channels at same time for calls/music.
