I haven't heard the stock DAC chip but the CS4398 is very nice. It suposedly has a better soundstage and is more musical than the stock chip. I guess it would be a matter of preference (as with everythin in this hobby). Do you want analitical (and more digital) sound, or more musical sound?

I did a review on X5 LODS from both...For the money I prefer the Qables, but if you have $90 for blow buy the Silk doc..youwon't be disapointed (assuming they sound the same as the Ipod version). Search LOD for my opinions on each. Cheers, JB

YEAH! They are here! And man do they ever look better in person! And I have never heard anything so amazing..even out of my Zhaolu DAC's headamp they are better than any phones or speakers I have heard..which isn't saying ALOT but I have listen to some amazing speakers. THANKS LARRY!
