Well, I think the Shures are back in the list then haha. I'm leaning towards the sound magics or the shures now. I loveee the build and look of the AKGs but I've heard the words thin, loose fitting, and difficult to get a good seal too often :/ And as the grados are on ear, I'll be passing on...

Right, so those soundmagics look exactly what I want. I'm not very good in the headphone dept, and haven't actually checked them prior to you mentioning them.   So please let me know how you get on with em :D

Lovely, thanks for the informative response. They sound like a good choice.   I just wish that you had tried the AKG K550s too, so you could have compared them. But I did find what you said very useful!   Anyone here have experiences with both?

I tried the AKG K550s in richer sounds, but I don't know if they have any on display now, as they don't in my local shop anymore.. But its worth a try. Luke

Haha. The AKG or the Shure srh840?! The shures sound like they bring music to life and are more fun, but the AKGs seem more relaxed, but build quality look great. Unsure!

Thanks for the replies guys.    So how do the AKGs compare to the shures for what I'm after?    I like the 'in your face' kinda sound, but perhaps wouldn't actually be ideal for when I'm working.   Also thanks for the offer on your set, but I can pick up a new set for £130 here mate...
