It's normal, mine has wiggle on both sides. The solution was (other than reterminating) to create a tighter clamping force on the cups. I needed to switch to bigger pads to get that since my head is small and clamp is too light with the stock pads. Now the connectors rarely wiggle.

For actual storage, I use a case. Otherwise, I leave it on a padded surface like a deskpad on a desk or padded liners on a shelf.
