could i construct a separate board for upsampling to intergrate with  this dac?

Hi, can somebody tell me the correct wiring configuration for a Naim 5 pin outputting to 2 phono plugs?   I hava a Naim dac and I wish to use the 5 pin din socket to my headphone amp as I am already using the phono outs on my main Amp.

Are you sure I thought it retailed at £500 i'm looking at Dacs around the £2000 mark. Do you really think it stands up???

Hi, No i'll be using the spdif from asus xonar essence st card. I think the Regaa is going to be to much of a cheapy to satisfy, The Ayre though looks like it is worth looking at. Top of My list at the moment is Synthesis Matrix, Naim DAC and Bryston BDA1. cheers

I have looked at the The Schiit Mjolnir already and have been waiting for some more reviews and such. Trouble is My amp sounds so good and it only set me bsck £112 lol. Currently upgrading my dac so I won't be able to afford to change until after Christmas at least....

Yes im beggining to realise this after a bit more reading so I think all in all it will not fly. I guess the next thing is to see if I could build a better amp than i have but i'm not that experienced so ho hum lol.

Well that's the bottom line I guess what DACs would you suggest a listen of and what do you consider there characteristics? I always listen to what all people have to say then form my own opinion & I think we all have to realise our tastes & opinions will vary and we must agree to differ...

pass, cyrus are very guarded with there tech specs.....

didn't i read somewhere also that if a 1.5m or greater coaxial lead was used it would acctualy cut or cut down jitter as the signal wouldn't get a chance to bounce back from the source before the dac sampled it or is that all just a nonsence????

In all the articles i've read mostly spdif is recommended over usb on test of sound quality between connections. Where are you reading this information? Cheers

My source is A PC front end built to hi spec with 32gb of ram, 8 core processor and 4 hard drives in raid 0 & a 1200w power supply to keep the sound free from other interference and stable. The sound is taken from the pc buy spdif coaxial from an Asus xonar essence ST one of the best cards...

typical, the bloke selling the meridian 566 has had a channel go out on his cd player so he's not selling the meridian at the mo. Got a line on a 563 though so watch this space.....
