1000GB flac on-the-go successfully, streaming to iPhone/iPad/Android portables
Thanks for the reply. So, if I don't understand wrong, if you are connected to your local network you can use power amp to reproduce streaming audio? Have you tried the PlugPlayer version for Android? Samsung seems like a good alternative, but I'm not ready to replace the iTouch yet. Maybe in...- johnnyjazz

1000GB flac on-the-go successfully, streaming to iPhone/iPad/Android portables
I don't know about the transcoding system of a Nas drive but I can stream from a pc flac files without transcoding with foobar without delays or cuts. Of course, you need to have a good wifi signal level. And i have a G wireless router, with your N one you shouldn't worry about anything!- johnnyjazz

1000GB flac on-the-go successfully, streaming to iPhone/iPad/Android portables
I'm curious about adroid players with streaming audio, specially samsung, phone or not. Can you use that apps that seems to sound good like power amp or voodoo with streaming flac files? What about battery life with wifi on? I know that they have removable battery and you can use high capacity...- johnnyjazz

1000GB flac on-the-go successfully, streaming to iPhone/iPad/Android portables
The thing about the routers with usb port is that sometimes it cannot manage hdd with large capacity. The other thing that you can do is use a NAS adapter. I think there is a usb to ethernet adapter and it includes the NAS software in order to stream. I can't remember the name of the device but...- johnnyjazz

1000GB flac on-the-go successfully, streaming to iPhone/iPad/Android portables
Yes, it means PlugPlayer. And it should work, they say that it works with UPNP clients. Another thing is, I'm using an Ipod Touch, and the battery life with wireless setups is short, like 10 hours. Is there any solution to that? I thought about getting an external battery but I'm using a fiio...- johnnyjazz

Seems like a nice device. Will it work with PP? For stationary I use something like a DIY Nas. Well, in fact, it is just an old pc with windows installed and the foobar configured to run at startup. I also use two routers, one is an old device that I converted into a repeater which possible...- johnnyjazz

Quote: I have a setup like that, using a diy NAS with a 2tb HDD and foobar as dlna server. I use my Ipod Touch with the PlugPlayer app, all my collection is in lossless and I can play it flawlessly with the iTouch without transcoding and I can't be happier with the audio quality. Of...- johnnyjazz

Streaming Audio Devices: review and information thread (Updated 4/23 with JF Digital review)
Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe I'll try with an external battery for occasional use, only when is really necessary, for example in the mittle of a great album! How about your router setup with DD-WRT? Is working fine??- johnnyjazz

Streaming Audio Devices: review and information thread (Updated 4/23 with JF Digital review)
Yes, I'm using the Touch with headphones. And I did the same thing, using an old router as a bridge with the dd-wrt firmware in order to have a good signal in the place of the living room where I like to sit and listen to music. I'm really pleased with the results, you have access to your entire...- johnnyjazz

Streaming Audio Devices: review and information thread (Updated 4/23 with JF Digital review)
Hi! Nice to see this post about streaming media. I'm running a modest music server at home, which is like a diy NAS with two routers, one is working as a wifi repeater with a DD-WRT firmware, using an Ipod Touch as a receiver with PlugPlayer (great app, by the way). I really like this setup...- johnnyjazz
