They might be fragile but the build quality appears to be fine. They don't feel all plasticy and cheap at all.

Hey you sound like me haha. I was debating some of the same headphones, not wanting to spend much more than $250 and ended up ordering the D5000's yesterday. Glad to hear you like them. I'm still thinking about getting the 580, DT770, or Q40 for more portable use.

I think I'll be purchasing a pair of Denon D5000's soon. Amazon' price has gone from $483 to $478 a few minutes ago. They also went from 17 left in stock to 16 to "in stock". I read somewhere that this series has been discontinued...is this true? Should I pull the trigger now and get one before...
