Sennheiser Product Registration
I was thinking about doing this, but I fear that this might be problematic. The thing is that I received the HD800S as a gift from a friend through Amazon. So, the only "receipt" I have is the email I got from Amazon after the gift was received. That email doesn't contain any information about...- Whitebread

Sennheiser Product Registration
Hello Fellow Head-fiers, I have a new pair of Sennheiser headphones that I'd like to register, in the case that I need a future repair. However, Sennheiser's contact points are just terrible. For such an accomplished company, I'd expect their customer support department to be easily reachable...- Whitebread

AMB Delta1 Input Impedance Calculation
Hello folks, I'm trying to purchase components in order to build an AMB Delta1 attenuator. However, I'm not certain what I should set the Zatt value to in the calculator. I'll have three inputs within the amp. The first will be the Gamma1/Gamma2 stack. The second is a Phono pre-amp. I've...- Whitebread

Audeze LCD-2.2 wood cracking and fastener failure
Hi All, I was working through the process of trying to replace the yoke and fasteners on my LCD-2.2s, when I noticed a crack in the wood ring that surrounds the driver I was trying to repair. At that point, I decided it was best to send the whole headphone in for service, as it is still under...- Whitebread

Reply to review by 'whitebread' on item 'Audeze EL-8 Open-Back'
Hi aCodemonkey, Concerning the power consumption, do you know what the voltage and current draw was? Also, I presume this power measurement was performed while playing back music, is that correct? I ask because I'm wondering if it would be advantageous to buy the AM2 or AM5 amp for my Fiio X7...- Whitebread

Audeze Closed EL-8 Break-in
I All, I purchased a pair of closed EL- 8s (after the revision) that are currently being broken in. So, I have two questions: 1. How long did owners break in their Rev2 closed EL-8s, before the sound signature plateaued? 2. Do current owners find their broken-in Rev 2closed EL-8s to be...- Whitebread

Any old fart head-fi'ers still around?
I joined in 2002, as well. I'm approaching my 15th year here. A lot has happened in my life, since I joined. If I knew then what I know now, my life would have been very, very different.- Whitebread

Audeze EL-8 Closed Version Impressions Thread
Hi mcemce13, The pair I bought came in a white outer case that contained black packaging. That black packaging surrounded the headphones, themselves. Additionally, my manufacturing date was August 29th, 2016. I assumed this date was after the revision that fixed the aforementioned issues...- Whitebread

Sony NWZ-ZX1 - 35th Walkman Anniversary model
Oh really? Guess I'll have to switch. Sounds like the zx1 can drive the Momentums well. Good. Edit: after reading a few reviews, I think the k267 would be a good complement to the Momentum, for music that the Momentum doesn't reproduce we'll. Momentums for hip hop, edm, reggae, soul, rnb. K267...- Whitebread

The Fiio X5 Thread
IIRC, the parts are not quite on par with the AK100, in terms of quantifiable performance metrics. Reviews seem to echo this truth, as many have said that the X3 doesn't have the resolution of the AK100 and that listeners can hear it. Whether this makes the AK100 worth the extra money is...- Whitebread

The Fiio X5 Thread
The FAQ in the first post suggests a price of around 400 dollars. IIRC, the X5 is supposed to be comparable to other high resolution players like the AK100, the DX100, etc.- Whitebread
