Thanks for the tip, I was putting mine @24/96 and it did not play. Seems that it only works @24/192 in mixed mode now (ASIO still can play at any frequency). Which is perfectly fine in my case.

So is the HifiM8 fully balanced from the DAC output signal onwards, or is it partially balanced (convert single ended DAC line level signal to balanced signal via a (differential?) balanced amplifier)?

IIRC, there is an amp section inside the Dacport LX, the same one as inside the Dacport. Hence differences most likely comes from the pot and the lower gain only.

Did you use any IEM in your testing? More often than not IEMs are more difficult loads than full-sizes, and where the higher damping factor of the V200 may make a difference. Rocking a G103 right now, plenty awesome for the price and better than my previous O2 in imaging and details.

From the latest post on Centrance blog, the M8 appears to use a XMOS chip.
