I use a headroom total bithead with my m50s and it works great. My source is a Zune.

Have you looked into the headroom total bithead? I have one and it works great. It was my 1st portable amp so I have nothing to compare it back to.

The constant pressure of the glasses frame behind my ears is terrible. Not to mention every time the headphones move they discombobulate my glasses on my face! lol Maybe if my pads were a tad softer...  Now I have a slight sinus pressure for some reason and it made everything sound like crap...

I normally wear contacts all the time, but today I chose to wear my glasses. No big deal right? WRONG! I go to put my m50s on and bam the discomfort hit me. It was purely annoying to say the least. I guess no glasses and cans for me. :/

As my first "real" headphone set I am very pleased. These provide a high level of detail and I am enjoying hearing sounds I never noticed before. My setup consists of a Microsoft Zune, Headroom amp/dac, and Sony equalizer. All of this cost me about $220. Even straight from the Zune they sound...

XB500 if rap is mainly what you listen to.   What ever you do please refrain from falling into the over priced artist endorsed HP segment.

Denon d2000 all day

The d2000 is a better all purpose headphone. Especially if going outdoors. $150 is not worth it imo...
