I just got my first headphone amp (a GoVibe V4) and am wondering if its best to turn up the source volume higher than needed and adjust listening volume down on the amp? or keep source volume normal and turn up the amp? I'm afraid a too-high volume level running into the amp wouldn't be good for...

I really like my 125's and want to say Yes to the HF1 frenzy, but my wallet is trying to say no. Sound-wise, are the 225's that much better (I know the HF1 has some improvements being touted)? I listen to pretty rockin' stuff usually.
