    Yamaha EPH-100

Quote: lol, I sent Techno a private message about this.   The R-50's I didn't like from the start. They were too harsh, lacked bass and I found the over the ear design very uncomfortable.   To make matters worse, the right speaker stopped working the second day....   I've spoken...

    Yamaha EPH-100

Received these yesterday and they exceeded all my expectations. They shine no matter what music is thrown at them.   Shout out to Techno Kid for the recommendation.

Rockit Sounds R-50 Reviews and Impressions

Well Techno Kid, I have just placed my order for the R-50's.   Just out of curiosity, on a scale of 1-10 how would you rate the S4's? The R-50's?

Looks like I am going with the R-50's guys.   Thanks for all the help.

    Earbuds under $200

Quote: I'd like my next IEM's to be a step up from my S4's, I don't see the HA-FX40 fulfilling that need....

    Earbuds under $200

Well Techno Kid, since you own all IEM's mentioned, do you have a favorite?   This is a very hard decision for me, and I am looking for something to get me over the fence :).

    Earbuds under $200

In that case, yes, I am looking for IEM's.     I'll look into everything mentioned ITT, thank you.   Edit: I guess another question is, how will the more expensive options mentioned compare to S4's...?

Well, i'm not sure, as I do not know the difference between the two.   Care to elaborate?

    Earbuds under $200

My Klipsch Image S4's have recently broke. While they sounded great, they only lasted about 9 months (and I lost my packaging with warranty).   Because of this, I'm looking to spend more on earbuds in the hopes that build quality will be better, and sound quality as well.   Music I...

New sub for home gym (<$250)

*This sub is going to be paired with two Polk RTi4's. Both the speakers and sub will be powered by a Harman Kardon 3490.   Hey guys,   I'm looking for an inexpensive sub to replace my current Sony one (SA-W2500). Since this sub will be used in my home gym, music will be the only thing it...

Will my receiver handle two Polk Audio Monitor 70's?

Quote: Damn that is a good price.   I bought mine from Crutchfield, I do not believe they price match.

Will my receiver handle two Polk Audio Monitor 70's?

Quote: I can always count on you!   I see the V667 for $249 @ Newegg, but can you link me to the A700, I can't find it?   What are your thoughts on Yamaha's Aventage line? Superior to the regular RX line?

Will my receiver handle two Polk Audio Monitor 70's?

After doing more research, and talking to people, I have changed up my decision.   It looks like i'm going to be keeping the Polk RTi4's, but replace the Pioneer receiver.   I think I need at least a 7.1 receiver (as they typically allow for bi-amping) to bi-amp my Polk RTi4's and future...

Will my receiver handle two Polk Audio Monitor 70's?

Quote:   Yeah, it's been a while ;).   They are working fine, but they are lacking overall sound in an 1800 square foot basement.   The Monitor 70's are just such a good price too, i'd be kicking myself if I didn't pick them up.

Will my receiver handle two Polk Audio Monitor 70's?

I have this receiver:http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...vers/VSX-821-K I'm referring to these speakers: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16882290209   Will this receiver power the speakers effectively, or will they not sound too good due to lack of power?   I assume...

    Can I bi-amp my speakers?

Update:   Sound has improved quite a bit.   They are slightly louder and have a better sound stage to my ears. It's also very interesting switching from channel A and B; hearing the highs/mids and lows.   I am very glad I went through with the process.   Thanks for all the help...

    Can I bi-amp my speakers?

I am about to do a setup like wuwhere outlined. I got confused at first with the surrounds(my doing), but I am going to use A/B channel on the speakers.   I have just picked up a decent RCA cable for the sub, freeing up the "B" channel.

    Can I bi-amp my speakers?

Quote: Alright, sounds good.   I'll update this thread when I have gone through the bi-amping process, and have had a chance to listen to the speakers.   Thanks guys.

    Can I bi-amp my speakers?

Is the end goal of bi-amping just essentially doubling the power output?   If so, that may pose a problem in itself.    My specific speakers recommend 20-125 watts per channel. I think if I bi-amp them, they will surpass 125 watts.     Am I correct? Will this cause a problem?

    Can I bi-amp my speakers?

Quote: Awesome!   When you say it should work, I assume you're referring to using the "surround" channel....   Would I keep my "A" channel the same(on the receiver and speakers)?   So I would basically be connecting the R surround to the right speaker, and the L surround to...

    Can I bi-amp my speakers?

Just to give people some visual cues:   This is what the back of my receiver looks like: http://i1236.photobucket.com/albums/ff442/shermanatorx/003-3.jpg   The "A" channel is being used for the front speakers, and the "B" channel is for the sub.   It just feels weird that the...
