    CIEMs - Cosmic Ears CE3P, 4P, 6P, JH 3X Pro, Alclair Reference, 1964 A3E, or something else?

I was dead set on getting a pair of Cosmic Ears CE6Ps and even got my impressions done. I decided to look a bit just to be sure and I'm wondering if they're the best for the cost (~$850 delivered), if I really needed 6 drivers per ear, if a designer in the states might be more convenient (I'm in...

Non-ANC, non-IEM cans for planes, trains, and offices?

I have cursed ears, can’t handle IEMs with any type of tip (flange, foam, silicone) for more than an hour or I’d use my Westone 4r all the time. ANC gives me a headache, can’t enjoy it at all. I’d rather hear plane engines and usually end up just using Apple earbuds. Looking for comfortable...

Right on man, that makes sense.  From what I hear E17 is leagues better than E7.

    Westone UM3X Thread

Quote:   The E7 vs E11 most likely won't be much of a difference, as the E7 won't override your iPod's DAC like it would with a computer source.  I've heard the E17 is a huge improvement though; you'll still be using your iPod's onboard DAC but from what I understand the E17 really...

    Westone UM3X Thread

I found the FiiO E11 on high gain with no bass boost and a LOD to be a great combination with the iPhone and UM3X. The E5 and E6 are okay with it but definitely not stellar. You can get the E11 and an LOD for about USD$65 right now which I believe is about 40GBP.

Westone 4 Impressions and Reviews Thread

Kinda late, but I did do a newbie comparison of the UM3X and Westone 4 here if it helps:  http://www.head-fi.org/t/605147/a-newbies-simple-comparison-of-the-westone-um3x-and-westone-4r-no-amps-no-frilly-cables-just-an-iphone-4s   Not sure if you already know this stuff or were asking questions.

A newbie's simple comparison of the Westone UM3X and Westone 4R - No amps, no frilly cables, just an iPhone 4S

Hi all!  I'm a relative newbie poster here, with most of my posts being questions and plagued with self doubt about my purchases (you all know where I'm coming from here).  I'm also new to quality audio in general.  Thus far, my purchases have included:   Bose MIE2i PowerBeats Sport Bang...

Westone 4 Impressions and Reviews Thread

The biggest difference between the T, Ts, and P are the fit...which is very important for quality because you need to get a proper seal. P is long (many people can't take this one), Ts is big and round (large canals), T is the standard comply tip. Pick whichever gives you the best seal. Beyond...

THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers)

I just discovered Within Temptation yesterday.  On my Westone 4Rs, with that rich open sound and beautiful female vocals, I get moved to tears when I listen.  If you like rock/metal and amazing female vocals, give them a listen.

Westone UM3X owner, just bought Westone 4R and not sure if I should have

Quote: Well, from my B&W C5s the Westone UM3X was a WOWWWWWWWW!!!11 upgrade.  From UM3X to Westone 4 was a "whaaaaaaa-ha-ha-haaaaat!" upgrade.  I've heard good things about the UM2, so you should be firmly in the "WHOA!" range, give or take a "daaaaamn".

Westone UM3X owner, just bought Westone 4R and not sure if I should have

Update!   So I got my Westone 4Rs in and went ahead and tried them out.  Audio source is my iPhone 4S playing ALAC files, using the Shure PA758 medium softflex tips.   The sound is definitely an upgrade.  I can see where people call the treble veiled, but honestly I don't feel that's the...

No, just over the ears. I wear mine under my chin and looped behind the ears.

Westone UM3X owner, just bought Westone 4R and not sure if I should have

Quote: No, not yet.  I wanted to a void a restocking fee from EarphoneSolutions if I return them.   Ahhh, I do love the Westones, and the fit is perfect on the UM3X except that the nozzle is a bit long for me....meaning the Westone 4 should fit perfectly.  I guess it can't hurt...

Westone UM3X owner, just bought Westone 4R and not sure if I should have

Now I'm considering sending them back for a pair of 1964-T customs instead.  This forum has cursed me and indecision sucks.

Alright, so my Westone 4Rs will be here today.  Now I'm considering sending them back and instead ordering a pair of either JH5 customs or 1964-T or 1964-Q customs.  I've never owned a custom before.  Currently I have the UM3X which I'm not sure whether I'll keep or sell once I get new IEMs.  ...

Careful, resellers are not Amazon, they have their own refund policies. I bought my UM3X through Amazon sold by Amazing Deals Online and they ignored my repeated requests for refund due to their policy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

It may have been said, but be very careful about the warranty coverage.  Westone's very clear on their intention of not offering the warranty when purchased through any unauthorized dealer:  http://www.westone.com/unauthorized-music-dealers   That said, you can get some repairs fairly cheap...

Westone UM3X owner, just bought Westone 4R and not sure if I should have

Quote: This makes me think I might actually like them a lot.  I really dig the instrument separation and extreme detail but hate how crammed and stuffy it seems.  We'll see what happens.   If I get them and don't like them, I'm hoping the Shure SE535 reds will fit the bill.  Though I...

Okay, I'll bite. Here's the text from a thread I started with 0 replies: I've read plenty of threads regarding the UM3X vs Westone 4 vs Shure SE535s. I've been a happy UM3X owner for a while now, and when I first bought them (upgrade from B&W C5) the SQ difference, fit, and seal were tremendous...

Have any of you found your holy grail?

I've owned Beats Tour (first mistake), Bose MIE2i (second one), Klipsch S4i, B&W C5 and P5, and now Westone UM3X and a pair of Shure SE215s. I'm very happy with the UM3X for solid any time listening, but the Shures give them a run for their money when it comes to fun sound. I'd say the UM3X is...

    UE Triple.Fi 10 goes Custom

Where did you go in NYC?  I work in Hoboken, that'd be a great way to spend my lunch break and I'd kill for some custom tips on my UM3X.   Once the EPIC MICS cable comes out I plan on buying 1 or 2 immediately.  I'd love to see a group buy on that.   Quote:

how to take care of iems

I think I'll have to do a research paper on the instinctual usage of the three-finger wrap.  Since getting my UM3Xs I've been doing the same thing, three fingers to loosely wrap and then nestle them into the Westone case.  I do wish there were an easier way; with my B&W C5s I generally just...
